Yes, these are different programs. Also, someone suggested that it is a screen buffer size issue that does a page at a time. That makes sense as I can see it blink as I cross page boundaries. I do not see how to change the size....if I can. Is it Windows or the GPU?

Resource is only a few %. I/O is fine and it is on an SSD. Error logs OK...just info. Again, system IS fast, it seems like some setting that only loads a page at a time. Scrolling within a Word Doc, or PDF is smooth...until it loads the next page.

I must be doing something wrong, but am not sure if it is the GPU or OS or what! I am using a 2GB EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti. With all the latest drivers. I built an i7-4790k, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD and ASUS Z97 Pro MoBo. OK, this should be fast and it is. However, I just get the feeling...

How to see shutdown message in Win 8.1?

I have a small problem as everything is working on my Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system with 512GB SSD. When I shut down, it says that it is shutting down on the blue screen. Being on an SSD it only takes about 10 seconds. However, above the Shut Down message, there is a QUICK message that pops up...

best Win 8.1 64 bit Dual Pane File Manager

Nothing, but I am used to having a dual pane program on XP and I just now built a new system with 8.1 and am used to the dual panel software. In fact, I did what you said a few days ago, and, of course it does work, but I like one program that lets you do that and more.

Well, I have an SSD AND a WD 3 TB drive. Is the Free WD version of True Image 2015? What version is it and do you get NAG screens? I assume this free version will do a complete backup of my SSD that has 3 or 4 partitions and will let me do a complete recovery. Does it create rescue Mdeia...

I have tried Free Commander XE and Q-DIR on 32 bit XP systems but just built a 64 bit Win 8.1 system. As usual I hate the Windows Explorer file manager. Q-DIR seems good, but I can not see how to add drive icons to a toolbar. I like FreeCommander XE, but do not yet see a 64 bit version...

What PSU should I get? Going insane!

Great...I want to use the default install key, but do not want to activate the setup until my drivers are all in. I do not want MS to think I am loading on another system just because I changed/updated drivers!

Since I have not started my new build yet, I could try 10 if I had the link. I wonder how long the Beta would be good? Is this a full install or upgrade? It could be fun to play once the PC is built and before I actually use it. Plan on a ASUS Z97 Pro WiFi with 16GB memory and 500GB SSD...

Well, I am not logging into a domain. Just connect via FIOS the usual way. I guess going from XP to 8.1 is going to be a big jump. I assume there is no way to go directly to 8.1.1!

Hello ALL: It has been a while since I built my last systems and they still run 32 bit XP. Anyway I am looking at an ASUS Z97 Pro with 16GB 1866 memory and a 512GB SSD. I assume I can not actually buy 8.1.1 anyway, but that sure would be nice. So what do I miss if I buy 64 bit 8.1? Pro costs...

Geeze, of course we use DVD on our desktop(s). However, I still have floppy drives and this all started when I grabbed a blank floppy to move a small data file. Anyway, I did clear recently used and will reboot now. I also d/l the Sysinternals and see what I get if that did not work. OH...

Strange, I downloaded the file for XP Pro 32 bit...KB2964358, and when I tried to run it, it said my version of IE was not correct. I have IE8.06.001.18702, it is supposed to work. Anyone know what is wrong?

Can we get OLDER XP updates after 4/8?

OK, looks like we can still get already released updates. From MS..... Will existing updates still be available via Windows Update after April 8, 2014? Yes, all existing Windows XP updates and fixes will still be available via Windows Update and WSUS.
