Accelero X1 on an 8800GT?

Ah... and Arctic Cooling never said the S1 model was compatible with 8800GT, right? So really just the mounting holes are the only thing that ever constitutes the need for a new model of cooler I suppose? (unless of course a cooler isn't capable of cooling a card for thermal reasons...)

Best software for ripping DVDs (to make backups)?

Anyone had luck getting DVD Shrink to run under Vista? App crashes for me as soon as I launch it. Some other forums are talking about a Beta 3.5 version?

Thanks for the quick response :) And your impression is correct; in Vista, Im not booting off that drive. My problem is, what driver to use? The XP driver doesnt seem to function (nor would I expect it to).

I ran the Vista RC2 on a separate hard drive using this motherboard, and I cant seem to get Windows to see my [main] XP hard drive...which is connected via SATA II. Has anyone gotten the SATA II for this 939Dual-SATA2 working? thanks! Need to figure out if Im gonna have to do a mobo...

Cap fell off my 6800...

ah this happened to me, was pulling out an IDE cable and knocked a capacitor off my 6800GT...it broke VERY close to the butt of the cap too.... i had to sorta build up a little 'solder string' to get it connected right... very stressful and difficult, and be careful the cap gets HOT while...

Can I use socket 462 HSF on socket 939?

Fastest Bittorrent Client

hi... Im not exactly 'new' to the whole BitTorrent world, I have been able to get many files through it...problem is, it takes me SEVERAL WEEKS! Typically downloading at a speed AT or LESS THAN 1kb/s, I used to just use the plain ol' bittorrent you get off the official site...each running...

DVD picture blacked out

crap cant find MPC.exe... where might the executable be located? I entered into run, didnt find it, i did search, nothing. But the problem is with the black overlay, which happens in PowerDVD...so thats the real problem at hand.

Mmm...Classic (mplayer2) doesnt play DVDs. This problem is only with DVDs... And I installed Nvidia Decoder as a possible solution...not to cause problems. Plus doesnt it only work with WMP? Im trying to play in PowerDVD at least, and get this black screen problem

Im glad youve realized the advantages of Bluetooth... Ive had a SE T68i, T610, K700i, and S700i, ALL of them Bluetooth-enabled, and Ill never buy a phone that doesnt have it. TOTAL waste to NOT...youd have to use SLOW IR if it even has THAT, otherwise like you said you have to use expensive WAP...

Anyone else getting pumped about the PSP?

I believe they go up to 128 or 256 Mb right now, but are scalable up to 1Gb at least theyve said. Some bad news about my imported PSP today...got a second game to diagnose an odd problem. I have a bad Psp that cant read discs. gonna see if i can swap it with my seller :(

ok sorry :) pretty crappy that PSP uses disc media anyway...does a number on battery life. Nintendo's got it right with solid-state. No load times, and much less power consumption

No, wrong. The discs are 1.8GB capacity, and are actually SMALLER than a mini DVD or CD. That plus they are specially encrypted, and reside in a plastic housing for UMD format... Ive had my psp for about a week now. Pretty good-looking piece of hardware, although I got SCREWED by getting...
