I have had the TXN-3245 for about 2-3 months
The CC deal back then was $50 CC gift card + $100 MSN dollars -> Total was $550 incl delivery.
Pluses:
1. 4:3 non-hd digital cable looks great with the built in line doubler - this is definitely a reason to get this set over the equivalent...
I had the same problem recently - some tips (in order):
1 Try checking power supply to make sure its not set at 220V (should be 115V)
2. Clear CMOS by removing lithium battery and changing a jumper (see your mboard manual)
3. Change to jumper mode as opposed to jumperless and set dip...
So last night I had the opportunity to plug in 2 Planar 17.4" LCD - one digital and one analog into my
dual head Radeon 8500. Supposedly, they both have a 17.4" Fujitsu MVA screen, but I couldn't confirm that fact.
First some external aesthetics:
The analog version, CT1744Z, has a thicker...
To continue with the constructive advice:
1. Firenet will connect 2 computers via the 1394 port as long as the software is installed in both
2. I couldn't get a JVC to work with either my portable 1394 port or my desktop. My Sony work's great! Newer JVC's supposedly have less problems but...
*Fixed* - Just for anyone's future reference - the problem was the power supply was set to 220V instead of 115V. Probably occurring on all the Chieftec's sold by Newegg recently.
Hey all-
There seems to be little info on the net about what to try if the POST -> processor fails.
Setup:
New ASUS P4S333
Northwood 1.8A
Radeon 8500 in AGP
Case: Cheiftec 1040 clone with Channelwell 420W
Crucial 512MB 2100 in DDR slot 0
So, basically, installed just the 478-pin processor...
Couple other things:
CPU fan is connected and works on power on but no case fans connected (left case open)
No HDD, floppy, DVD connected yet
MB set to jumperless (JEN1)
Again, thanks for any suggestions
J
