As far as walking goes... when drilling holes, the easiest way to eliminate this is to use a jig. Just drill a hole in another piece of material, say some 1/2" particle board, and then clamp that to the item you want drill the real hole into.
Works like a charm!
Well, an update...
I have not been able to get Prime95 to run on this box for more than a few hours without hanging...
MemTest86 will not complete either - hangs or screen goes garbled after a few hours...
My brother has the same motherboard, same CPU, same memory, same BIOS settings...
mechBgon...
The 2000+ and 2500+ are getting different results on different motherboards. Also, so it's clear, there has never been any corruption of a file that was transferred between PCs on my home network. But, I do a verify for good measure. This consists of either running a DIFF...

I suppose I could tell them I switched motherboards and changed out the thermal pad, if they'll buy that. I'm not sure they'll accept my lapping the heatsink, however.
Lapping a heatsink means to sand the base of the heatsink as flat and smooth as possible for the purpose of...

I will run memtest86 and maybe prime95 - thanks. I think it's the CPU. The system had been getting unstable at around 54 degrees Celsius at full load. Unstable as in black screen, fully locked up; and that's too low of a temp for it to be doing that. I have an SLK-900 heatsink on...
I just transferred 8GB of files (over the network) from my Pentium 233 box to my Athlon XP 2000+ box. Ran MD5 checksums on both sets of files and the Athlon skipped a beat on 2 of 308 files. Reran the MD5s for the 2 files and got a match this time to the checksums generated on the P233...
Yeah, he's right about the VIA issue. KT133 problems here - ugh!
For those of you who are having problems, you might have to uninstall the IDE DMA portion of the 4-in-1 drivers. My compatibility issues went away when I went to Windows XP, but my IDE performance sucks...
Hopefully, you'll all get v3.x revisions of this board. These support Athlon XP. I don't think the v1.x boards do, and I noticed in the product description on newegg that only their new versions (not the refurbs) say anything about XP CPUs...
Still waiting for mine. Few things:
1) I think the sale price of this camera was $284.95 ($15.00 off due to the sale). The other discount amount, if you saw one, was for your media, if you purchased some.
2) 800.com added the accessory kit to my order, even though it wasn't available when I...
Ok, I just got in on this. No accessory kit (valued at about $25). Got the 128MB SanDisk SmartMedia card.
Oh, and this is good:
THERE'S a $20 REBATE for THE 128MB SmartMedia, WHEN PURCHASED AT 800.com (11/7/01 - 1/26/02).

Shweet!
Is the sky falling? Dymo is not rejecting rebates. I called a few days back to check on it and mine was in the system and good to go.
They rejected yours.
I've gotten "past postmark notices" before, but kind of rare. I just call them, tell them that my records show that I mailed it...
Hi everybody. I hit 5 Targets in the last two days. Here's what I found:
Starlancer rang at $29.99
Didn't check Crazy Taxi
Didn't see a Deep Fighter
Soul Caliber for $19.99.
Fighter. This is the only game to ever score a perfect 10.0 at dreamcast.ign.com; perfect 10 at gamespot.com as well. I...
Ok, folks. I took a stab at this last summer on the washing machine. I'm 0 and 1. Here's how it went down:
Bought the washing machine.
Submitted the challenge form. Challenger was an Admiral washing machine advertised at Wards with 3.3 cu. ft capacity and 16 cycles.
Waited 3+ months I...
<< And having read through the threads, I believe I got the mongo deal of the bunch ('cept for that guy averaging $2+ per game, unreal!!!) at my Best Buy in Richmond, VA this evening. Here goes: >>
Oooh, just picked up numbers 49 and 50 tonight. Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Sega Rally 2 for...
<< also, if you're lucky, you can get more than 2 per trip, some dude said he got 10 games for $14 over at slimwallet. now that's a hot deal. i could only manage 6 myself for $10. of course, it all depends on the games you get, but most of you probably got the picture by now. and most BB's are...
<< Since theres alot of new DC owners due to the price drop, has anyone gotten a successful pricematch on this? >>
Yep. Yesterday, I got BB to give one up for a DC purchase I made a few weeks ago. So, in addition to the $50 gift card (for late January BB purchases), I've now got a free...
<< Would anyone comment on the DAE quality of these drives? >>
I have one. Nero shows between 7x-8x, I believe. Can do 4x disc-to-disc burns on Plextor 8x4x32 with no problems...
<< I got them to take off that stuff about the "first purchase" - that doesn't make any sense - why say first purchase and then have it be good for 3 uses? Anyway, it's gone. >>
I still see it. Right in the first paragraph.
??
<< There are 8 different rebates, so that's 24 total possibilities per person. >>
Chris, I went to the BrandForLess offering and they state:
"Limited Time Offer! Get $10 cash back on your first purchase of $50 or more."
What do they mean by "first purchase"?? I've used...
