Is it possible to run SATA HD's on IDE mobo's? can you get converters? and do they run the same? I am only asking because i am about to purchase a HD and think i would be better off going for SATA 150 because it would be more future proof, please tell me what you think.

Ok thanks for the help everybody. will stay away from IBM's, for an extra £10 i can get a 80GB seagate 7200 so i will get that one. Also can i get any PCI IDE controller or are some better than others. can anybody recommend a good one. thanks

Ok just got adsl and within about a week my 40gig is full. So i have been looking around at hard drives and decided that i want to go for a IBM 80gig 120GXP, is this a wise decision? Another question i have is that all my IDE ports are taken up, I have cd-writer, dvd rom, hard disk and a zip...

Nero taking ages to load!!

Has anyone got any suggestions that might help me out, when i try to run nero everytime it takes ages to load up i timed it, it takes me about 1 min 30. This also makes my whole computer just freeze for this time while its loading up. And also no other program does this i even installed easy cd...

hi, i just took out my modem to test it in another machine and then plugged it back in and then installed it ok and everything was fine. then about an hour later, i switched on my machine, it came up with two options at the first screen before getting into windows something like this, not sure...
