Thanks for the reply. So I figure we are probably looking at a 25-30% increase across the board (you were pretty conservative by the looks of it) and a 40-50% in poorly optimized SLI games, maybe more. I am noticing that the 2gb limit is becoming an issue in games, GTA5, Dying Light...

I am really thinking of getting a evga 980 ti superclocked + acx 2, this will replace evga 670ftw sli. Is it worth it? I'd wait for a pascall but it's probably almost a year away. This is coupled to a 2500k @ 4.2ghz. I game at 1200p. Thoughts?

Weird Slow Down problem with multiple windows

It does it with any game (Lord of the Rings, WoW, etc). For example: I can have WoW in a window, move the mouse to the bottom on the task bar and the CPU usage goes to hell all of a sudden and the system gets all choppy with it.

Heh, thanks, but I am a noob to overclocking, so while I want to get a LITTLE speed increase, I am not looking for anything too drastic like what you have in your signature :) As I said in the initial post, the E8500 is 3.16ghz, if I could bump that up to about ~3.5ghz without too much...

Yes but, if you went with a 9.5x multiplier and a 400 FSB, you would end up overclocking that E8500 to 3800 mhz. Wouldn't that work and still be well within the tolerance for that brand of Ram?

Nah, Dual Core is still tops for Games and will remain that way for a long time yet, I would only get a Quad Core if it is 3.0gig (OC'ed or standard). Ill probably just wait for Penryn's new 3.0gig Quad Core, it is reasonably priced (~$300) and clocked at 3.0 gig, so its worth while.

What average speed is the Q6600 hitting when overclocked?
