If you're trying to pricematch, Staples fine print states that they price match including all IR's and MIR's. Using the Cendyne 32x12x40 drive as an example: Staples price is $79.99 - $50.00 MIR = $29.99. Outpost.com's price is $49.90 + $7.95 overnight shipping - $20.00 MIR = $37.85. Since...
boa, I believe the part #'s for all the cendyne 32/12/40 drives will be the same. I don't know about the UPC's, but mine matches yours exactly. I also got a lite-on with a 12 digit serial #, starting with a '2'.
I went in to the local officemax and found a 12 digit serial 32x Cendyne on the shelf. Asked one of the workers if they'd allow me to exchange a the 24x drive (an Acer) that I got last week online. He told me it shouldn't be a problem at all. They wouldn't let me take the drive on the shelf and...

Anyone else experiencing this?

Ditto for me...Acer drive is hooked up to IDE-2 as Master. Pioneer DVD105-S connected to IDE2 as Slave. I accidentally started an "on-the-fly" copy and to my surprise it was no slower than caching the files to the hard drive first. Drive shows up as Multi-Word DMA-2 using WinXP Pro.
I'm not sure what the "problem" is with the Acer drive? The only review I can find is for the 20x Acer writer. So far the Acer drive I received has worked flawlessly. Granted any new cd-rw drive is a big step up from my 2x2x6 that I've been using for what seems like eons now.
I mainly burn with...
