XP has no settings for TCP/IP, all internet-related apps fail!

try going to cmd.exe in the RUN menu and typing ipconfig /release then, after it's done, ipconfig /renew. Works sometimes. --Xg

Comp won't post after HD install. HELP!

Well, now the Power won't turn on at all, so I assume the problem is a faulty power supply. I've ordered a new one from Newegg... I just hope that when the PSU went it didn't take any other parts with it... --Xg

Ghetto-rig Subwoofer???

Is it a powered subwoofer? You might be getting constant extreme bass because you are powering the woofer with both the receiver and the woofers internal power.

Yeah, i tried this too, unfortunately. No matter which HD i choose, it goes to window install. Besides, that's not really the problem, because it won't POST at all anymore. I appreciate the help, but i'm looking for solutions to the POST problem. Then i can figure out the hard drive. sigh. but...

motherboard dead?

Ummm... a few ideas. 1. Bad Power Supply 2. Bios is messed up/ battery is dead 3. Mobo is fried. 4. CPU is fried. If your computer has been running for a long LONG time, it might be a bad battery for your bios. Cheers. --Xg

Sounds like the next step is water cooling. If you have that many fans in your system it might be worth it to you anyways. Nobody really sells water cooling for Ram though, so you might have to rig it yourself. Thermaltake does sell some headspreaders with an attached fan however, though they've...

Heatspreaders, more fans. You can even watercool your ram these days. Might just want to lower the voltage and cut your clock a bit. Unless you don't mind the chance of decreased RAM life. --Xg

Where in the bios does max HD size supported exist?

I don't even know if that's in the BIOS. If it is, it's probably listed as LARGE DISK SUPPORT. I know that when you format and install windows, it asks you if you want to enable large disk support, so maybe it's a windows thing. Might need to flash your BIOS if that setting is supposed to be...

Try booting up in safe mode. Maybe your current driver is having problem reading the drive. Also, if all else fails, try buying or borrowing another hard drive, booting from that one, and seeing if your comp will recognize the data on the other drive. You're probably in the market for a new...

Yeah, sounds like a Wake On Lan setting in your bios or something similar. If you have an ethernet connection or modem, try disabling the appropriate settings in your Bios. I think that'll clear up the problem. --Xg

At first glance, seems like you just need some Codecs. Not sure which ones, but they're out there. Do a search on the net or Kazaa for Nimo Codec pack. That package fixed a lot of Video/Audio problems for me, and it might work for you too. Just my two cents. --Xg
