By the logic expressed in the original post, all British soccer fans are crazed fanatics too.
Oh, yeah... they are.
But seriously, it's an idiotic conclusion. The trampling deaths are solely a function of the sheer number of people packed into a small area. It's a human herd effect...
Can I assume that any radiator is better than a good heatsink/fan? Because there are some pretty puny radiators out there, like little 60mm things that don't look like they radiate squat. I was looking at a SysFX dual 80mm radiator that I can fit right behind my dual 80mm case fans in the...
Question in topic. I want to put together my first watercooling system. I see that various vendors advertise radiator performance in BTUs. Obviously, more is better, but I'd like to know what is considered adequate. I just need a frame of reference in judging these radiators. Thanks.
If you're not up for a full reinstall, them at least try using DriverCleaner or a similar prog. Use it to wipe away all traces of the old drivers, both Nvidia and ATI, and then install your drivers fresh from the CD.
Dual monitor support was one of the things sacrificed on the AIW to make room for all the other stuff on the back of the card. I believe I have read as much in a few articles.
"What is HDTV?!"
As a general rule, capping to uncompressed AVI is less CPU intensive than doing realtime MPEG2 compression, so you should have fewer dropped frames and stutters that way. Compress to MPEG2 afterwards using Nero's MPEG2 plugin or TMPGEnc or whatever.
Well said, Carb. Our society will not begin to turn around until we learn to stigmatize materialism and reject hypercommercialism. Human beings are more than walking wallets, and the GDP is not the most important measure of a society's success.
OK I know the AIW 9800 was just announce a little while ago but are there any updates on the expected ship date? Last I heard was "Spring" which is almost over.
Will ATI be making AIW cards out of their other new chips? I want an AIW card, but $500 for a 9700 Pro AIW is a steep price for me, and I'd like something more current than the 8500.
That's what I wanted to hear!
My Athlon rig is not only loud but hot as well. I don't need that living in Florida! I learned too late that Athlons can be either cool or quiet, but not both (barring water cooling of course, which is over my head).
Just how quiet or noisy are the Northwood retail fans? I'd like opinions from people who are serious about peace and quiet. At the mo I'm running an Athlon machine with a Volcano 6 (4700 rpm, not the "plus" model) and I find it way to noisy.
Google Gear says that only mobos with "Northwood" in the description are guaranteed to work with Northwood CPUs. The TH7-2 doesn't say "Northwwod". Does this matter?
Like the title says. I'm looking for stability/reliability first, performance at standard spec 2nd, and OCing ability 3rd.
Is it this one?

Or this one?

People go gaga over the Volcano 7+ speed switch, but can't you just buy an in-line speed dial for any fan? Why not buy a heatsink with an 80mm fan and put a throttle on it?
Pardon my newbieness. What's the minimum CFM I should use to adequately cool an Athlon 1900+ with an AX-7 heatsink? No overclocking. Is one of those ultra quiet Panaflow L1A fans enough or do I need a little more wind? Did I even choose the right heatsink for this chip?
