First deal, so don't flame me too much if you don't think it's hot.
BB's in-house brand ( vpr Matrix ), is currently at $1399. Add in a BB $100 rebate for all Pentium-4 based laptops, another BB $100 rebate for buying a Matrix, and suddenly you're at $1199.
That still doesn't sound very hot...
Current "Deals" that I am aware of, in order of expiration:
$30 off online coupon from Staples. Unknown expiration (at least to me).
Compaq "Summer Savings Rebate" for $100. Expires Oct. 12, 2002.
Staples in-store $50 off $500 purchase coupon. Expires Oct. 15, 2002.
$150 instant off at...
I'm kind of torn about that new rumored rebate (which starts the 13th ), as it starts after the current Compaq rebate ends ( the 12th ), but before the HP rebate ends ( Dec. 2nd ). At the moment I prefer the Compaq 1500T (Celeron) to the HP ZE5000, but don't think I want to pay an extra $150...
Be sure and read the fine print on the rebate:
I'm not sure that that 10% off coupon won't invalidate the rebate... (otherwise, I'd probably be buying one today).
I went by Office Depot yesterday (2 of them). One was out, the other had one left in the display case listed for $99. I asked the clerk to get me a price match anyway, and it listed there at $49.99. I bought the card at the time, but will likely return it today or tomorrow, as I'm having a...
Thanks for the info, Rossman. I'm just as interested in getting a laptop as you, and apparently just as picky about wanting a hot deal. When this comes to be, I'd appreciate some more input from you on it ( making sure it's an extra-toasty deal ).
There's also a coupon out to take $50 off an 8200, and it worked as of a few minutes ago. So, you can skim another $50 off the 8200 -- putting the price at just under $1300.
Still about $200 too much for me to lose my sanity and order one, though.
Sorry, I can't make this deal work. I don't know where this mystical $150 rebate can be found, but I can't find it. If someone else can, then this could be a nice deal.
Absolutely right, unfortunately. I commute about 70-80 miles a day (round trip). My current car gets about 30 MPG. Assuming the Insight can sustain 70 MPG, that would mean I can cover the $7K price difference through gas savings in just under 12 years of operation. I'm not sure that I can...
Bravo, indeed. Three GameCube games ( Rogue Squadron, Luigi's Mansion, NBA Street ) + one N64 Game ( Diddy Kong Racing ) $62.46 shipped. Thanks to all for the stackable discounts ( I saved $67 according to them ).
[EDIT: "Four Three" doesn't make any sense. "Three GameCube" does.]
*Rapidly looks at Dell's site, repeatedly through the entire day, trying to make up mind*
Sigh. I've been wishing I'd jumped on that 8100 deal as well when it came by, but just couldn't pull the trigger finger then. The other two deals are OK, but nothing exceptional IMO.
The bundle deal (...
It's a good thing it expires in two days, not enough time for me to get through an AmEx application to get the extra off. Thus, I can barely resist spending the money on a new lappie... I'll have to wait on the next hot deal.
In any case, be very careful before doing the 5% rebate thing. From...
<< I really don't want to phone in my order since I won't get the same deal as ordering online (long story).
Why would I need a modular floppy?
What if the laptop crashes and I need to bootup from CD, can I do that from the DVD? >>
I have an antique Dell Latitude CPX ( 400 Mhz Celeron )...
