Fired up a couple of rigs for the cause. cooler weather is quite welcome, the MP runs pretty hot. Back in the top ten I hope. Cogratulations to the milestoners and welcome new members. Thank you for the stats.

Dual Core Xeon running BOINC (SETI or Rosetta)

Rosetta@Home - 08/25: Stats

My RAC will drop over 50% with the new scoring system. I am still running the same rigs. It looks like the team is doing better in the daily stats. We are 3rd teamwise in Bok`s stats we were fourth before the change. The other teams are now within striking distance. Do not panic things are...

So what's up with SETI?

I run Rosetta ,with a few clicks of the mouse I can be running any Boinc project. It is very cool. You can split running time between projects.

I took a hit from mother nature last night. All 7 rigs were down from a power outage, couple hours I guess. One did not make it , reverted it back to ME . Looks like a bad 2gig HD. I will take care of it this weekend. I may work on a wicked counterpunch also it`s name is Bart and he is mobile...

When Roseta 5.06 was released W98 and ME machines stopped scoring. The WU complete fine and the science is good. Time to complete is reported as zero hence no points awarded. Rosetta promised to fix this problem and award the points. I couldn`t wait any longer I switched OS. I have quite a few...

Rosetta@Home - 04/03: Stats (I was one day ahead..)

My Me machines have quit scoring. Both of them seem to be running normal, not getting credit. No help on the Rosetta site. I am setting them to predictor@ home to see where the problem is. Boinc or Rosetta. Anyone having problems with ME or W98 installs?

I havve a node not giving credit. It seems to run normaly, reports results with no CPU time. . I posted in the problem area at the rosetta site. Since then I discovered the graphics are broken on that rig. I would just reinstall every thing but I would like to keep the node number and ranking...

I think there was a maintenance outage. Could be the cause. I see Geoffs numbers are way down. Mondo and JW output was lower than usual as my own. X2 is running, should be good for 1200 a day. This thing is doing more work than three XP 2400. RIP socket A, A64 is the only way to go. Congrats to...

Rosetta@home down time 2/17/2006

I run Rosetta on two machines with dialup. Typicaly I have 2 to 3 hours of band width use per day. It takes forever to update these rigs. This change may be fixing this. The project is not dialup friendly.

It seems to run great, my XP 2400 chews right through these. It is great for dialup, the WU are small. Rosetta takes forever on dialup. I think I will make this my backup project for Rosetta on all the rigs. My MP 1600 dually may be better on Predictor, it did not optimize very well,. I did...

How much Powah do you have??

5 to 10 ghz for me could be a lot more if I had free electricity. My two best rigs are down at the moment. I have all the parts for a duron 1800 system, no gumption to put it together. Two slot A athlons gathering dust. An XP 1600 and 2000 down, only needs ram I think. All older stuff. I have...

BOINC: Rebirth of a computer in the horde (mondobyte)

Reminds me of 10 bay AT case I had. I dreamed of filling every bay with SCSI 2 drives with my Tyan dual pentium 200 MMX board. The thing was huge. So I assume Opterons are better than X2`s . What is your comparison between the two, I think you have both.

I ran out of work due to the server being down. No big deal I switched back to FAD for now. How do I cache more WU with Boinc/Rosetta? EDIT: When Rosetta came back it was sharing CPU 50/50 with FAD , very interesting. I will let 1 rig run like this to see what happens. Thanks for the stats ...

Welcome new members ! I have moved the fleet over to ths project . I can tell you that the client works with Win ME and rigs with 3.02 gig HD with 256 meg ram. I can also tell you the work units are large. It takes quite a while to download on dialup. I have 5 decent rigs on it so far. More rigs...
