it definitely isnt acting memory starved by the 128 bit unlike the rad 9600 xt was, must be some more effective compression across the memory controller, and this is certainly a must get if you have a Rad 9600/GF FX 5700 or less. Then again, wait for X700, the ensuing price war and watch them...

nVidia designations and ethics

I say ban 64 bit cards that still get called fx 5200 or so with nothing like '64 bit edition' or SE to _tell_ something was clucked down. same goes to the 9200's (8400 you mean) and GF4 Ti 4800 (actually just a 4200 with AGP 8x) or our fave... GF 2.5 MX (4)

Geforce 6800 vs. Radeon 9800 Pro

but... thats super idiotic settings. not everyone has 4 bajillion Ghz PCs and 58" monitors. dont forget, youre CPU tied with the 6800's until AMD 64 3000+/P4 3.2 so it wouldnt matter with a 9800 or 6800 until you hit such high resolutions in most games (unless its doom 3 or far cry). I myself...

score is almost spot on, I get 5200-5500 (depending on tweaks/drivers) with my 1800+ 9800 SE AIW softmodded

9800 pro running slow compared to AT Benches

check AGP speed settings and the actual cards core and memory speed. SmartGART is in the ATi Control panel, but only if you d/led the ATi control panel along with the 3.4 drivers

Actually all the PowerColor boxes say 'powered by ATi' NOT 'Built By ATi' like the others plus most of them come with 350Mhz RANDAC instead of 400Mhz and even most come with one instead of the Dual RAMDACS that everyone else have...

My 3d2001se score is loooow for my system... what do you think the score should be?

its the game scores you should be more concerned about not 3DMark as for example how fast does UT2K3 run or how fast is Jedi Knight 2.... 3DMark is just not credible anymore as its too dependent on CPU and Memory and not just video, however the fillrate and polygon tests are useful...

not recognizing full memory in windows/ cd burner probs

also XP is very demanding on memory - 128Mb doesn't cut it - 256Mb is smoooth - just but give it 512Mb and its leaping for joy... could also be why you can't burn properly as you don't have enough buffer memory free (especially if your burner doesn't have BurnProof)

are they a 'foreign' region? if so, get DVDGenie. then again you should make sure that XP knows what region you are in. My computer > DVD Drive > right click > properties > advanced/region

AXP 2000+ benched at 1.25 GHz???

don't panic! like everyone else has siad, it's very common as you assume straight away that a new mobo has 'plug n play' CPU support and sets it automatically. I did the same when I got my 1800+ and PC2100 DDR... don't feel ashamed its just 'one of those things'

Duke Nukem Forever - Will it be a game or is it just a concept?

Is there any way to remove MS Messenger?

This is EXTREMELY effective - TweakXP - Remove MSN Messenger It completely uninstalls it AND doesn't affect Outlook Express - in fact it speeds it up on loading (yay!)
