    Did u plug all three connectors on the Motherboard when you first powered the thing? If so you've burned it 99.9% I've seen the case with a QDI Platinix2A. Only the M/B was burned (showing similar symptoms -won't boot etc) all else was ok.

    Looks like you really screwed up your hard drives leaving garbage in the FAT area. If u plan to reformat the thing do an fdisk-remove all partitions-create new ones- format. Also fdisk/mbr modifies the boot record directly in case you experience sever access problems like the ones you mention.
