Wow that's a huge project. But why is everyone suggesting these big expensive backup solutions costing over $1k? I doubt drive failure will be a really big problem, so you could go with something slower but a lot cheaper, like dvd R/rw.
Processor speed won't be a big issue, although I wonder...
One thing that wasn't mentioned is if you go to a lot of lan parties, or just need to transport your computer a lot. It's a lot easier to carry around a 10 pound lcd than a 40 pound crt :)
Personally I"ve been using an ipaq this last semester and love it. Got a targus keyboard (same size as a laptop but it folds to the size of the pda) and it's great for taking notes for most classes, not really math equation type stuff though.
I"d like to be able to plug my game console systems into my monitor so I don't need to waste space with a tv, also, it's a really nice monitor :)
I"ve never been able to really find a way to do this, but there must be. I guess something like a radeon all in wonder with tv in might work, but is...
welp, it's stopped working entirely now. Yesterday the screen just went black after more noise. I turned it on a few mins later, and I hear a pop kinda sound and smelled a bit like a lightbulb burnt out. So ya, it's dead. Just got a new monitor today.
I have a 19" Trinitron tube monitor that is about 5 yrs old. Just this past week when I turn it on or off I get a rapid clicking sound for a few seconds. However it is functioning just fine besides that. It's currently running @ 85Hz on my geforce 2 ultra at 1280x1024.
I'm thinking it's...
Ok well here's the code, ya I did have variables in there.
result = double CalcExchangeAmount(double dollars, int currencySelection);
and the function is :
double CalcExchangeAmount(double dollars, int currencySelection)
{
double result; // result of the calculation
double multiplier;
cout...
ok I"m fairly new to C++, been taking classes for a sememester. I can't figure out why this isn't working for me.
I have a function double CalcExchangeAmount(double , int );
and I want to pass the result of it to another variable also of type double. I keep getting a compile error: type...
Ok, I found some pc-2700 512 dimms for 150, Samsung brand. Great deal imo compared to crucial, even WITH 20% off right now.
But would there be much difference in 2 256mb vs. 1 512 module? My mobo will support 3 gigs I believe so I"ll probably go with the single 512 module.
I'm getting a new ket 333 mobo and I can get 512mb of crucial pc2700 or for the same price get an extra 256, but it would all be 2100. Anyone got a link to some benchmarks?
Thanks, just needed to make sure ;)
Operton, AMD's 64 bit cpu, is very different and I don't believe it is socket A.
However throughbred will be comatible with a KT333 board. I think, hehe
I"m almost certain it will but I need to make sure. I plan to get an xp2000 in a couple months but for now stickin w/ my current cpu and just gettin the ddrram and the mobo.
Thanks :)
I'd really wait for the Ti4200. if you can. If you'd spend 160 on the radeon, spending 180 on the geforce shouldn't break the bank and you will get a lot more performance for your dollar.
I just got that case w/ a 420 watt psu and side window installed, and shipped for $100 under the name chenming. that's supposedly the company that "really" makes these cases. same as an antec sx 1030 I believe.
I just bought an antec sx 1030 case, and I"ve noticed that one of my 2 HD's has a wining sound which is really annoying, not that loud though. I guess I never noticed before since this case is very open in the front compared to my previous case.
The HD is a 45g 7200rpm maxtor I bought several...
Got my case. Very nice quality. The psu fans are kinda loud, but once I put the case in it's place under my desk it's not bad, I wear headphones a lot anyways ;) The window is pretty good quality also. very nice deal.
Well I just ordered one :) At coolerguys they have the exact same case, w/p psu I believe and with a window for 150! I figure since its so cheap here I"ll put the window in myself and save a bundle ;)
