Seagate Freeagent External HD Dead?

Was able to open it up by prying off the bottom piece of the base and unscrewing from there. The drive is a 500 GB 7200.10 Seagate Barracuda, and still didn't work after I hooked up the relevant bits - same popping sound. I'll try to install it on my PC at home, but fear it is done for.

For Asus boards, you are better off getting the chipset drivers from nvidia at http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp They can be downloaded and installed directly.

gateway 21ws vs dell 20ws

I'm interested in a comparison as well. In Canada, the Dell list price is $749 and the Gateway is $799. Can get the Dell for less when deals are on, not sure about the Gateway. Supposedly, Dell have a new generation of LCDs on the way, so might wait.
