Got mine yesterday. Still burning them in. They go swell along with my 580s and 497s (thanks FW!). They sound good now. They should sound great after the mod.
I'm happy with my unit. I saw the Toshiba deal last week too. You'd pay shipping ($69) and tax too. But then you'd also get a new unit instead of a refurb and it'll do 720p.
FYI, the 30PW9819 for $850 has a DVI input though it's not currently in stock.
I got the Samsung SIR-T151 off of ebay for ~$130 shipped. Add a $25 Silver Sensor antenna and you've got free HDTV assuming you live near a metropolitan area. Let's see, how many months of cable does that equal?
Search the threads over at avsforum.com. You'll find lots of happy customers. Electronicsnation just places the order with Philips. The unit is shipped directly from a Philips warehouse. I've heard of some units having some scratches on the sides/tops but some look brand new. You can also ask...
I jumped on the 30PW9818 for $800 a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting for it to arrive. I'm hoping the PixelPlus is worth the extra $200. Also the 30PW9819 for $850 would be awesome w/ DVI.
I got in on one of the last ones this morning. My wife said I could get any TV that fits in our armoire and this one will barely make it. Now, any suggestions for an HD set top box and a progressive scan DVD player?
I wouldn't even bother with the parallel compact flash thingy that comes with it. Just use a usb compact flash reader/writer. Ever since I installed the parallel CF drivers on my win2k box, explorer crashes intermittantly.
Am I reading the rebate form right? The rebate says Model 25301472 but my receipt says under Item Description 25301481. The SKUs match though. I'm calling them tomorrow.
I used 14 guage but the housing is very thick. I also ran the subwoofer cable in the same area. I can definitely feel and see the "bump". I might replace the speaker cable with 14 guage thin housing wire eventually. I did see a site where a guy used ribbon cable to make a flat cable. I think he...
Go to Home Depot and buy a "fish tape." It's a roll of stiff wire that you use to fish cable. Lift up the edge of carpet where your speaker is. Fish the tape underneath the carpet (but above the pad) to your receiver. Lift the edge of carpet there and attach the speaker wire to the end of the...
I did this, got my 2 books, and cancelled. Then they asked me if I wanted one more month at half price ($9.95). I said yes. That's 4 books for $9.95!!!
Well, I bought the SX-HTBs because my wife wanted a wood-colored finish. I think they also come with floor spikes, fwiw.
Chalk me up as a very satisfied customer. Anyone bought one of their subs yet?
Just bought this today at Home Depot. They said they were clearance priced. Normally they are $149. One store was out of them. Another had 6 left after I walked out with mine.
