The nv17 has the tv encoder built right in so the tv output quality is not at the mercy of board makers. I believe it also can do overscan. The people over in the htpc avsforum seem to like it.

The half height geforce4 mx (came with both full and half-height face plates) is only 45 dollars, which is actually the second most inexpensive geforce4 mx at newegg.

Remaking RADEON 9500 64MB into RADEON 9500 PRO by software!

I witnessed it myself. It works. It was the oem 9500 128 mb card from newegg. I don't see any reason to buy any other video card.

Cool. The maker of Derik's Boot and Nuke emailed me back. DBAN uses the Peter Gutmann algorithm. That's the 35-pass one. Gutmann's Paper on Secure Deletion of Data I think this'll do.

I need some software to erase entire hard disks securely. So far I've found the following utilities: Disk Wipe 2.0, Acronis Drive Cleanser 6.0, and East-Tec FormatSecure 1.5, but they all sound the same to me. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd imagine the fastest PCI video cards now are the Geforce4 mx 420 cards. I'm not sure how they stack up to a geforce 2 gts though.
