yes, sir. on both.
pxc - wondering why such a simple fix is so "hard"
----------
Someone who is having the problem with bad shadows (6800/7800): post your system.cfg and i'll show you how to fix it.
I'm worried about you guys. Blocky shadows are trivial to "fix".
7800GT, 81.84 drivers:

woohoo HDR. ;)
How about this? It's a bit cheaper than the GTO for $121.65AR shipped: http://www.pcdirect.com//product.asp?Sku=VIMSRX800%2DTD128E (free shipping if you click through pricewatch since the promotion code is filled in... or you can figure it out since it's so simple)
Also available through...
semi-related: if you have a Fry's B&M nearby, check the components section. I saw retail boxed Athlon 64 2800+ CPUs for $98. It's $99.90 online: http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4018732
That's $38-$39 extra for 512KB L2 vs 256KB L2 (both run at 1.8GHz), a heatsink and a 3 year warranty...
LOL, the warranty will be over by the time the rebate is paid, if ever. Mach Speed has a horrible track record of paying rebates.
I used certified mail/return receipt for $50 in Mach Speed MP3 rebates since it's almost certain i'll have to make a TD rebate guarantee claim to get anything...
What are you talking about? Of course there's multiplayer. Read the posts above. You can't play online with the "free" version (aka pirated version).

I think the single player game is pretty good. After I finish it hopefully the Q4 servers will be pretty active. :D
I had the same thing happen to me before from OM/UPS. UPS delivered my memory to a completely different city (3 miles away) then gave me the run around. They told me the address (which obviously wasn't mine and was different from the address on the package) and who signed for it. Then UPS...
title: First 7800 GT to break the $300 barrier.
I got the BFG 7800GT from Dell for $285AR/AC. :P

Someone on FW mentioned buying gift certificates through giftcertificates.com using the StarClubRewards link to get them at 80% of face value (including TD). Plus there's a $10 sign up...
If you wouldn't have jumped into the middle of the conversation you would notice that I qualified that statement just a couple of posts up: "FEAR is such a slug. I'll consider it if there are significant performance improving patches."
You can laugh, but none of the sparingly used eye-candy...
I have a 7800 GT ($285AR from dell :D), and 1600x1200 isn't smooth. But don't you see any problems with spending $400 on a 7800 GTX just to run a poorly optimized game? FEAR isn't even that great looking.
I'm going to pick up Quake 4 @ Fry's tomorrow. It's on sale for $37.99. :D http://shopping.ocregister.com/ROP/ads....79018&adid=2117116&subid=9038171&type=
FEAR is such a slug. I'll consider it if there are significant performance improving patches. It's only $36.99 this morning, but meh...
I wish. :P :( I'd say that generally UPS packages are not on time, or at least my experience is that 1/2 the time the package is delayed.
My UPS 3 day package from gamestop (tracking posted several posts up) is on business day 5 today and my Dell UPS ground computer was rescheduled from...
It is a price mistake. The OP explained the sale and this page verifies the offer. Also see page 15 of the ad. Notice that the Xbox version doesn't suffer from the same error, it's still $19.99.
MrBLUNT is correct. And yes, I have also tried it. You can just pop one of these CDs into a semi-recent Dell (since XP came out) and you won't be prompted to enter a key or have to activate it. Install it on a non-Dell system and it installs just like a regular OEM copy of WinXP: you'll have...
Re: my late package several posts up.
Just as i figured, the UPS guy didn't show up on day 4 with my UPS "3 day" shipment. Monday is day 5, if he bothers to attempt delivery before or after 6 pm at all.
The Celeron D CPUs are fine. The Willamette and Northwood core Celerons were the terrible ones (128KB L2, 400MHz FSB).
This graph puts performance in perspective.
UPS has just delivered packages for the day and my package has been sitting 60 miles away for 27 hours. Note the "On Time" status and scheduled delivery date thrown in for a laugh. As usual, here's another delivery I can hate UPS for:
Status: In Transit -
On Time
Scheduled Delivery...
Delivery time has never been a big difference for me either, for 3 day or better methods.
But FedEx ground (1-4 days, including Saturday for FedEx Home delivery) is almost always faster than UPS ground (1-7 days, no Saturdays without paying an extra $10-$15). I never ship anything UPS...
Yuck. 1/2 the time the UPS guy doesn't come by until past 6pm, sees the leasing office is closed and doesn't attempt to even deliver packages door to door.
Good thing I rarely buy anything from newegg.
The NV45 is the PCI-E version of the NV40, with the bridge chip on the package. No one said that a 16 pipeline version of the NV41/NV42 was developed, so why do you bring that up?
Chances are that it's just a typo on PNY's page. If their tech support number wasn't just voicemail, i'd call...
The deals are few and far between, but good deals like this pop up sometimes: http://outlet.us.dell.com/Dispatcher?target=SpecPage&serviceTag=FX9KVZWL
That's school donation #2, a Dimension 3000 with a P4 2.8GHz for $164 + $29 shipping. :D
That's wishful thinking with little evidence to back it up.
The PNY 6800nu doesn't have a 6 pin power connector, doesn't have dual DVI, has a sub-6800gt cooler and has the 6800nu reference PCB (not the beefier 6800U PCB with extra power ICs). It's almost 100% guaranteed not a rebadged 6800U...
http://www.pny.com/products/verto/performance/6800pcie.asp
There's only 2 6800s listed in the video card section. :P Kind of hard to miss.
---
The 6800nu cards use the NV41/NV42 core, both are native 12 pipeline chips. It's very unlikely that PNY's 6800nu uses the NV45 core especially...
I've bought 2 Chaintech video cards in the last year. Both work fine.
Chaintech probably doesn't even manufacture the 7800GT, just like most other vendor branded 7800GT cards. I don't understand the YMMV part. KK is being very sloppy with the claim, IMO.
They start at $149 shipped on pricewatch, and $134 shipped on pricegrabber from a very iffy pricegrabber storefront ($150 from the cheapest actual web site).
