A7N266-VM hangs up

ok the USB thing didnt work. also, when I use a WIN98 startup disk it will boot. But it doesn't recognize teh HDD, and therefore installs RAMDrive as C:

ok.... resetting the CMOS didn't work. I did find something interesting though... when I disconnect the CD drives and HDD, i get a DISK ERROR, since there is no OS. Then when i reconnect the CD drives but still leave the HDD disconencted, i get the same DISK ERROR. however, once I plug back in...

i just put together this system with the Asus A7N266-VM NForce board, Athlon XP 1600, 512mb crucial PC2100 DDR, and an IBM 120GXP 40gig HDD... here's the deal: it recognizes everything ok, but after the POST and right before it would normally boot windows, it just stops doing anything. no...

lower room temperature

ive got a 1.4 athlon t-bird and it heats up the room too hot... is tehre anything i can do to keep the room cooler? like better fans? if so whats the best/most economical fan i can get for my proc i also have a mobo fan that i need to replace soon, and 1 case fan

VCD is jumpy/laggy

i'm getting this problem with VCD and SVCD: the movie will play fine for about 30 seconds, then speed up for one or two seconds, and then lag for half a second to catch back up. It only happens on SOME movies, not all... but its very annoying! i'm pretty sure its not a bitrate problem, because...

s-video or composite video for DVD player?

sony makes two 20" Wega TV's. One of them is $299 with NO s-video input, and the other is $349 with one s-video input. what i'm curious to know is, should I really spend the extra 50 bucks for the S-video input? is the difference between composite and s-video worth 50 bucks? Here are the two...

cheapest place to buy DVD's

i am eventually going to invest in a DVD-r, but for now... does anyone know where I can get DVD's for really cheap? maybe even one of those "columbia house" type deals where you get 25 cd's for 9 cents each or somethin.... if not, just good deals on movies?
