I don't know if any of you are familiar with the show "The Screen Savers" on TechTV. A technician there by the name of "Yoshi" made one of those about a month back. Personally I'd stick w/ some sort of Metal case. I bet that the foam case does help lower the sound alittle. Wonder how it...

computer locks frequently with radeon 8500le

beats me. Only thing I can add is the obvious. Make sure not only your card has updated drivers, but your motherboard and monitor. ANY hardware you have that is video related. I've never used that card myself so I can't offer any other opinions.

How to get Windows Explorer to open the way you want

Simple. Goto your desktop, right click and select "new shortcut". Type the name of the directory you wish to shortcut to.... ie "c:\crap". Add a space, and then add "explorer.exe" to the end of the command. The end result would look like this. "c:\crap explorer.exe". An Icon will then...

Duplicating hard drive for new PC

If you have a cd burner I would just burn all the wavs (and whatever other files you want to save) on the CD and load them into the proper directory when you have your new system up and running. Definatly do a fresh install though. You said you have alot of software, so my guess is you've also...
