SETI and macintoshes

Lucky, What OS will you be running? 8.6, 9.x, or 10 (OSX) ? I've found the GUI under OS 9 (all seem to be about the same 9.0.4 through 9.2.2) to be fastest so far on my Mac at work. The G3 233 I was running got 26hr times under 8.6 and 10, but 24hrs under 9.2. The system has been upgraded...

DNet Mac client questions

Mac OS 9 is slightly better at multitasking, and I've found an average of 10% higher RC5 keyrates over 8.x. Havent had a chance to play with OS X yet. Boss said he ordered it so we should have a copy at work to play with soon.

Which laptop to buy with VGA, DVD, ethernet, and wireless ethernet? (Was: LCD Projectors: Anyone used one? Composite and S-video vs. VGA?)

What model is it? If its running 8.1, I highly doubt its a G4, you'd be lucky to have it be a G3 even. Unless you've upgraded the processor that is. 8.1 is old and not likely to have shipped with a G4. G3s still have a decent crack rate though at about 3.3kkeys/mhz. I'm having to learn this...
