ADA3800DAA5CD max of 1.35V on 939Dual-SATA2?

I thought that all X2 3800+ CPUs could be set to run at voltages between 1.35 and 1.4V? I have a X2 3800+ that I can only set to a max of 1.350V in my BIOS, not 1.4V like many others can (without any VCORE mods) I've tried both BIOS 1.2 and 1.3. The CPU has the following markings...

I went ahead and got the X2 3800+. I figure with overclocking, I could at least get the extra 200 MHz from the chip that a X2 4600+ offers. At that point, I would have been paying $200 just for the extra 512k of cache if I got the 4600+ and that didn't seem worth it.

1) It will be used for gaming paired with a 6800GT in a ASRock 939 motherboard. 2) $400 is the limit. So the 4000+ and X2 3800+ are about the top of my range right now.

I know the answer is "then wait until you can afford one", but if you absolutely cannot afford an X2 w/ 1MB of cache right now, would the better option be to buy a 4000+ with 1 MB of cache or a X2 3800+ w/ 512k per core? Since Monarch has the X2 3800+ for $359 and the 4000+ for $9 more at $368...

Warm? Radeon 9600SE for $79AR at CUSA

The 9600 would be better than a 9600se. The difference is that the 9600se has 4 - 64bit pipelines instead of 4 - 128 bit pipelines like the 9600. I know in my testing, a TI4200 was faster than a 9500 in DirectX8 games, but the 9500 killed the TI4200 in DirectX9 games. I'm sure that the 9600...

Problem with the ASUS P4C800 that I have is that it only has one channel for ATA133/100 RAID, so you have no choice but to connect both drives to one cable unless you buy some SATA convertors.

Just as another warning, if you try and change the USB Ports option in the BIOS from the default 8 Ports to 4 Ports, the board will not boot from a Windows XP CD-ROM. If you drop it to 6 Ports, it will boot off CD-ROM. Upgrading to the 1004 BIOS didn't fix it.

Have to bring a thermometer down for the room temp, but the case temp is 28 degrees celsius. PC is in a basement with no HVAC ducts, just natural cooling. I'm going to try sticking the stock cooler back on and see what I get.
