He's not 'bashing them', he's bashing Bush. Of course we all know that, and we know that when an American citizen says the same thing, the story changes to 'you're unpatriotic'.
Anyone who thins that foreign citizens owe their blind support to America's president is probably irretrievably...
I figured out the problem. I'm a dumbass ;)
I had installed some sort of nvstrap thing in rivatuner that was trying to force the quadro's special functions on my card. Once i disabled that in rivatuner, everything was fine.
Thanks for the suggestion, though :)
I had everything running fine in Win 2k until about the time I decided I would try removing gainward's expertool utility so there would be no conflicts in using rivatuner. Then my 4400 started appearing as a quadro4 in the device manager and when I play a game that displays vid card info such...
Found new type computer workshop when looking at OCZ's approved Canadian vendors.
They seem to have quite a good selection, though their prices could be better on some things.
hmm.. I'd rather have flakey quality assurance on a video card than a hard drive any day. A dead (full) hard drive can be the worst kind of failure. :disgust:
I think the cheapest you'll find is the Hercules Fortissimo II digital.
Other, more expensive cards with toslink (optical) are Hercules GTXP, Soundblaster Audigy Platinum, and the Terratec DMX 6Fire. From what I've heard, the Terratec is probably the best card. I would buy one but I haven't...
Are you kidding about that walmart a/c unit? The cooling side of that would take a large amount of space inside your case, not to mention all the heat it would dump into your room. :P
I've never tried memorex's black backed discs, but their other discs are just terrible and should be avoided like the plague. I used to have good luck with memorex about 5 years ago, so I decided pick up a couple of spindles. There were obvious faults plainly visible on several of the discs...
I'm almost positive that this is a hardware limitation. You need to have hardware support in your video card and monitor for a certain resolution and refresh rate to get it to work. You are not going to change this by modifying system settings.
I think Pavlov spent at least 10 years doing tests to flush out his conditioning theory. Granted, this may seem to be a simple concept, but it was revolutionary in its day.
A local (to vancouver) retailer (anitec.ca) is selling the VIVO version of this card. I think it's just a different retail package that comes with the connectors for video in as well as ulead video studio software to handle the video capture and editing. All the abit 4400s have a conexant...
I have been considering the GA-7VRXP, but wanted overheat shutdown protection built into the board, so i fired off an email to gigabyte. I just got their reply. Here's what I got from them (including my original message):
So I think it may be worth waiting a few weeks for the revised board to...
I was also looking at going with the gigabyte board, though I am a little concerned about it's lack of heat protection.
maybe someone here can clarify this for me:
Tom's Hardware was reporting that CPU overheat protection must be integrated on all motherboards starting June 10, 2002 - as long...
