At work I use it with Linksys Access Points and the range is simply amazing. At home, I've tried it with a Dlink and more recently an SMC router and the range for both has left lots to be desired. It's usable but I thought I would get much better range when hitting my router from about 12 feet...
OK this totally sucks. I paid $70+ for this thing about 2 weeks ago :| Blame it on peer pressure from my co-workers here! I should have waited and shopped around for a deal!!
Oh well....I'm passing this on to another co-worker. I'm sure he'll appreciate it since he's getting in on the new Axim...
Well that's good to know, thanks. My plan is to throw a wireless NIC (probably USB) on one of my desktops and move it into my 2nd bedroom. I might as well try out a Dlink NIC first. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks,
Jack
I dunno if others have had similar experiences but this router's range blows big time. :|
I hooked it onto my wired SMC Barricade router in my small 2 bedroom apartment last night, gave it a static WAN IP, etc, etc. Fired up my Dell AXIM, configured SSID and encryption-related stuff and walked...
You're probably looking at the one listed on the OD Rebate Center section. Yes, that one has expired and it allows copies of the UPC.
The rebate currently on the OD router product site (Link) expires on 5/31/03 and must be postmard by 6/30/03.
The one on the Dlink site (link) starts on 5/1/03...
I'm assuming that you're referring to the $20 rebate from OfficeDepot and the one directly from DLink. Are you sure that you can use both of those? If so, that would be awesome but I somehow doubt it.
Jack
I placed the order last night for pickup at the Tustin CA store. I stopped by earlier this morning to pick it up and the manager came out and told me that he'll need to see the printed coupon. I told him that I don't have it anymore because I didn't think I would need it. I also said "You do...
I just placed an order for pickup in the morning @ the Tustin CA OD and will grab a form from there. I might check with them to see if there could be a problem with using the rebate with the coupon.
Jack
Anybody know if there could be a problem with using this rebate with the -$15 coupon since it (off of Officedepot.com) says "Not valid with any other offer"? By the way, the rebate form off of Dlink.com says that it's not valid at Office Depot (could mean B&M though, who knows).
Thanks,
Jack
Yeah, I didn't see anything about a $10 IR. $15 off $50 coupon worked fine and the $20 rebate sounds good. D-Link also has this rebate mentioned on their site. I finally might have to go wireless! Any horror stories out there with this router? Can I turn off the router and use it only as an...
Good price...but I was totally disappointed with Unreal2. I thought I would be able to get decent performance on my system...was barely playable. Oh well.
I'll admit that I'm not too experienced with building systems nor have I had the opportunity to try out some other troubleshooting tasks. Here's my problem:
I picked up the mobo with P4 1.8 CPU from Frys (God help me). I put in a brand new Western Digital 60GB HD and a Pacific Digital burner...
Hi All,
Sometimes during POST, I get the message "CPU FAN FAILS" and "Hardware Monitor found an error. Enter Power setup menu for details.", is displayed on the POST screen. I go into Power Setup in BIOS and the realtime CPU fan speed would periodically be displayed in red if the RPM value...
Well, this may not be a big deal but I figured I should ask. I also just got a P4 1.6 retail and while inspecting the heatsink I barely touched the black thin pad and apparently scratched it a very tiny bit. It's probably nothing but I'm wondering if I should consider getting the 3rd party...
Very cool. I dunno if you'll have the same problem but I had to be extra careful when installing my AGP card. The inner portion of the TV Out connector came very close to one of the mobo's onboard audio connectors. Be gentle with it and it should be fine. But like I said, you may not have this...
Hi all,
I have to admit that I'm new at this and I would appreciate some feedback. I just received my P4S533 yesterday and started assembling it. I ran into a problem when trying to install my Gainward GForce4 card (MX 420). The TV out connector (the small "box" on the inner/lower portion of...
Hi all,
I just received my P4S533 from newegg yesterday and it turned out to be the retail box, not OEM as their site says. I was charged $99 + the $6 for shipping.
