How many keys/s are you getting with RC5?

Duron 600 @ 1016 3.62 Mkeys/sec 2 K6-2/400 @ 400 approx 640 kkeys/sec each 1 Celery 300a @ 450 appros 1.24 Mkeys/sec All of these except 1 K6-2/400 are in the house...Duron and Celery actually get used, K6/2-400 is just sitting here with no monitor and I have the floppy setup as remote...

1 Petaflop Supercomputer

Looking at Dnet's speed page (http://www.distributed.net/speed/), it appears that an Alpha at 667Mhz puts about about 1.34Mkeys/s (100Kkeys/s faster than a celery 450). With 2728 processors, that works out to 3.66Gkeys/s.... Definitely would be a nice addition to the team!!!!!!!!!!! dj

why won't my 600mhz duron go over 650?

limsandy, O/C'ing can be done at any time, whether the CPU is brand new or years old! Where in the world did you get this information that it must be done when it's new??? It makes NO difference, a CPU does not "get used" to a certain speed. On the other hand, the "burn...

So what do you get from overclocking anyway?

Been overclocking for years here, starting with my old P-133 (@ 83Mhz x 2). Right now, I'm running my Duron 600 @ 1016Mhz with Win2k (no uptime records here (sitting at 6 days now), it has never crashed on me at all, but I always seem to be installing stuff that wants me to reboot), and wife's...

what is the most thourough way to format a drive ???

Realize that there are preferrable options to formatting. Usually a better idea to boot up off of a bootdisk and just DELTREE your Windows & Program Files directories....just remember to copy the data you need out of these directories...don't have to worry about the other directories...then...

Win 2K Users: Spill your thoughts about this OS!

Buckmaster, Had the same problem. Cure was to reinstall and NOT use v1426 of Via's 4in1 drivers (v1426 has actually been pulled from their site because of problems)...the IDE driver causes this problem...use v1425 and it will fix it. Not sure if your problem is that, but you may want to look...

RC5 Keyrate hit in 2k?

Well, just got the system up and running (again). I'm sure it's the Via 1426 drivers I was running that was causing the problem. Even clocked down to 600Mhz and running my PC133 memory at 100Mhz, I got corrupt files. Unfortunately, I did not realize that 1426 of the 4in1's were beta. Am...

Thanks for the advice...I actually bumped the speed down to 900 early this morning....hasn't happened again, yet, but this problem is very intermittent, so I'll give it a while. I have another question...how accurate is the voltage readout on these motherboards??? I have mine set to 1.85V, but...

Help w/ Win2k lockups

Wierd problem. Happened twice now. Computer locks up solid, nothing will respond, not even power-button on case, reset button works. After I hit reset, the computer will NOT detect my hard drives, just sits at the screen saying "Detecting IDE Devices." I have to power it down, then...

RC5 Keyrate hit in 2k?

Installed Windows 2000 on my 1Ghz Duron yesterday, had been running Windows ME. Anyway, with Windows ME, when I was on the computer just surfing the net and light stuff like that, my keyrate dropped some, but not too much (2-300Kkeys). With Windows 2k, whenever I'm on here, my keyrate drops...

Milestone Makers for 12-29-00!

Must ass-laminate more PC's! For my part, in the last 2 weeks, in addition to, I've added a 1Ghz Duron & Celery 450. Friend should be joining the team soon w/ 1Ghz Duron & 700Mhz P3. Also will be adding Celery 466 in a few days. Dennis

His machine is up and running RC5 & SETI for the team!

Nice motherboard with the smoke let out, but I don't think it was caused by the software running on the PC...an electronic component failed. The circuit that burnt appears to be a voltage regulation circuit (vCore?)...probably a bad cap. Anyway, RC5/SETI didn't cause this fire, an electronic...

I've got a Duron on a KT7....that person is definitely reading his case temp, and not CPU. I've noticed that quite a few programs default to the case temp as CPU temp. My Duron 600 @ 1016Mhz, 1.85V runs at 41-43 under full load (which is all the time...since I'm running RC5), with a case temp...

woah, TA Cube is in 247th for dailies in OGR 25

What is the best Mobo / Duron in terms of MHZ to overclock???

Check out OCZ, they sell overclocked Durons...Duron 1Ghz is $69.99, or for $10 more you can get a Duron 1050. I myself bought the Duron 1000/Abit KT7/Monster2 cooler combo from them...very happy to pay a few extra bucks and not have to play overclock roulette with some random Duron I got...

Can't run at FSB 133....

Similar setup here with Duron 1Ghz...I have the "budget" PC133 I got ages ago from Mushkin. It will not run CAS2 (According to SiSoft Sandra, it's only CAS2 at 66Mhz and below). I am running it at 134 Mhz (FSB+PCICLK), with CAS3 and most aggressive memory timings with no...

Duron+mobo or Celeron+ram?

Just got my Duron 600 (guaranteed to O/C to 1Ghz), Kt7 & Monster heatsink/fan from The overclockerz store. It replaced a Celery 300a @ 450 on an Abit BM6...The difference is amazing! Windows ME boots up in NO time compared to the fresh install of ME on the BM6, everything is almost...

Free Tektronix Phasor 850dp - kinda

Are you aware of how much the PAPER costs for these printers? We have a Tektronix Phaser at work...the paper is an oddball size with a perforation on it...I have cut regular paper to the exact same size, but it won't work with the printer. I can't remember how much the paper costs, I just know...

Overdrive Pentium 166MMX- same thing as a normal P166MMX?
