Though I'm a die hard Mac fanboy, the one Apple product I'm not in love with is the keyboard that came with my iMac. I prefer a bit more action in the keys and tactile definition. Is anyone using an alternative USB keyboard that's made for Mac?
I've used Windows keyboards with my Mac before...
I spend $20 a month and get a VPS at KnownHost. It's plenty fast and has plenty of space and bandwidth. Plus you get shell access and a dedicated IP so you can run anything you want.
To top it all off it's "semi-managed" meaning their support is great. They'll install/upgrade software...
What RSS software does everyone use? I'm not a fan of Google Reader or other web-based solutions - I prefer something I can run locally.
What are you guys using?
Hey AT,
I'm looking for a web design/development firm to build an app for my startup. Our idea is pretty fleshed out, and we have v1.0 code to work from, though we really would like a total redesign/rebuild from the ground up.
Experience with social applications and PHP is preferable, as...
Thanks for the recommendations guys. Interesting that people recommend DW - I've always thought of it kind of as bloatware...
I'll give Notepad++ a shot - mostly because it's free :)
I use a PC at work, and want to do some PHP programming in my downtime. At home I use a Mac with Transmit and Textmate for programming. It's easy because I just double click the remote file and it opens in Textmate. It hit save in Textmate, and Transmit automatically uploads the changed file...

You may want to clarify your understanding of Wall Street before you go investing in those stocks. Blackstone (BX) and Fortress Investment Group (FIG) are not hedge funds - they're private equity firms. Though perhaps these days the line is being blurred, they're still not the quite the same...
I think maybe not a lot of people have heard of Charlie Bartlett. I saw it and really loved it. It reminded me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off in a way, but not as slapstick. Checkout the trailer below and judge for yourself.

Seriously all you need in this case is the bond pricing formula. Google it.
Furthermore, if you're a finance major, you may want to re-evaluate your decision.
Tough Sh*t. Company A is not required to do anything to compensate Company B's option holders for the loss of value. At the time of the acquisition, the deal would have been approved by both companies shareholders - meaning if Company B's shareholderes thought this was coming, they shouldn't...
You do realize that it's the same thing. You've said that you have a long term horizon, and that you're assuming MSFT succeeds in acquiring YHOO. In that case, it's the same stock/company.
Checkout the Citi Dividend Card for Students. I started with a $1000 limit 4 years ago and now have $20,000. It gives 3% rewards on gas, groceries, and utilities, and 1% on everything else.
I agree with what you're saying. If you have researched all the issues, and abortion is the one that is most important to you, I encourage you to vote on the basis of that. That is an issues based vote. It's not my place to say abortion is less important than the economy. But I do not respect...
It's pretty hard to make the argument that the economy and social security don't affect everyone in this country, particularly the middle/lower class. People are deeply in debt as rates on their sub-prime mortgages balloon. People who pay into social security their whole lives will likely not...
I see where you're going. However, in my opinion, the ideal solution is not to disenfranchise people, but to educate them. Ideally, I would love to see a society where even the lower class understood that the issues that really matter are not abortion and gay marriage, but the economy, the war...
It's a tragedy. But you have to realize, despite his flaws, he was elected by the country twice - and that's the scary point I'm trying to make.
Also - let's please avoid getting side tracked on GWB and stick to the topic in the OP.
Agreed it is a slippery slope - but this is my point - if you vote for Obama because he's black, Hilary because she's a woman, or John McCain because you "like him" or "trust him" or any other non-issues based reason - I don't believe you deserve to vote.
I was reading in OT today a thread where the OP says that none of the girls he works with at a nightclub can do basic subtraction in their head (ie. cover is either $8, $10, or $12 - how much change from a $20?).
The thread basically goes slightly off topic to determine that it's not only...
This scares the sh*t out of me, and this is why:
There are a few people in this thread calling the OP's workplace a "crap" job, etc. Here's the thing - it's not. This is middle America. Club workers, waitresses, department store clerks, etc. To us (the AT crowd, generally well educated and...
Is anyone watching the Super Tuesday coverage on CNN? The touchscreen computer system that they are using to vizualize the election results is fascinating.
The newscaster can pan and zoom into different states, counties, even cities, and the election data is automatically displayed for that...

I'm not sure if you want to stay with your company long term, but if you do or don't, one of the best things to do if you want a raise is PROVE you're a retention risk.
Do some interviews and get some offers at other firms, and then share with your firm that you're being recruited away.
Sounds like some kind of Ponzi scheme (Wikipedia link)to me. Your GF's brother was probably just lucky to get in and get out early.
Your GF also sounds like she has no idea how investing/finances work. Don't let her near your bank account.
Plus, are you sure the guy is an accountant...
Here's a vote for NC. Either Research Triangle Park area or Charlotte. Both have excellent weather, and are growing areas (Charlotte especially). Charlotte is also a beautiful city with excellent quality of life.
This is biased however -> I'm from Charlotte.
Wordpress is great - it can be so much more than just a blogging platform. Templating is very easy too. A wide variety of community plugins means it can basically do anything you need it to.
I've tried Joomla - not too bad, except that it's a pain to design for (relative to Wordpress).
My...
I used to have an MX700 which I loved until the day it died. Bought a Revolution MX and have really enjoyed it. The thumb scroll wheel is pretty useless, but I do like the ability to toggle the main wheel between free spin and "ratchet" mode.
Overall, I definitely like the RevMX. The MX700...
My SS was really thoughtful - clicked through my sig to my blog, and noticed a sentence or two that I had posted about wanting a Flickr Pro account but not having the extra cash to shell out...
I got a Flickr Pro gift code in the mail :)
Saw this on the front page of Digg, thought I'd share. Apparantly you can vote for him to win some contest - I think he deserves it.
Enjoy.
Little Mermaid - Part of that World
Aladdin - A Whole New World (he sings both parts)
EDIT: If you like him, vote for him.
