No. I wrote to them a while back and they basically gave me "we have no plans on making ff9 for the pc". Had to buy a ps to play it, awesome game, but jeez so many jaggies!
Try the final fantasies (7 and 8). I think 7 was better tho. Not gona strain your system for sure. If you do get these I recomend getting a gamepad to play it on, keyboard just doesnt work.
Thief is a good game but I think a bit too tedious (sit wait watch wait run stop wait watch).

Connect vcr to tv card, play vcr while using record function of tv card (most of em have it). Saves to mpg or whatever file, burn that to cd.

Not sure if this would help, but I remember playing it again when the x:com collectors edit came out (couldnt get the original to work cuz I didnt have dos drivers for all my perif). In options I remember I had to set everything to the slowest possible. It became playable at that point, tho...
Heh that problem. Yeah that sucks. Took me a while to figure out how to associate the umod file.
