    From reading this and a bunch of other boards, not many people have managed to get their memory going much past the 340-350 mark. Everyones using top drawer memory, like samsung 2700 or corsair xms3000 and 3200. Is this the board? The memory? Thanks

    If Gigabyte follows their standard naming formats, the GA-8IG probably has few if any overclocking features. THe board to watch for would be the GA-8IGXP. Peace

    BDA2+ or 4G4A? Using it with a 1.6a

    Stay away from the 4G4A if you plan on OC'ing and want stability. Epox dispensed with the 12volt power lead which gives the CPU the extra juice it needs to run well at higher FSB's. A real pity cause the board seems like a winner. Peace

    I was asking around about this board, and apparently you should be able to pump the CPU voltage up to 1.85 using easytune. Though if your CPU is the limiting factor, it might not help much. Peace

    Better cooling wouldn't hurt...and I hate to say it, but maybe you'll have to try the vid pin volt mod trick :( If you do, really watch your real voltages very carefully. Peace

    I'd be careful with the Epox 4G4A+, based upon a limited sampling of what I've read on other boards. It's not OC'ing very well with CPU's that are screaming on other mobo's. Peace
