I have a Geforce 4 mx AGP and a Geforce 2 mx PCI. Both are installed at the moment and windows seems to see both cards, but there is no performence difference. Do I need special software? Is it possible to work?

is it only with the 41.09 drivers? Did you try going back to see if the older drivers don't have this problem? If so then it's a problem you need to ask nvidia to fix in their drivers.

Have you tried just using that ps? if you don't have alot of things (ie 2 or 3 hard drives, 2 cdroms, 5 add-in cards, etc.) then you could be fine. Some people have been getting away with 250 watt ps and haven't seen them complain yet.

Try Rage3d Tweak over HERE. it will tell you what you are currently working at and will let you overclock.
As for the AGP speed. Normal is 66mhz but if you want, you can go higher and might get better results. Try it and if you do get more FPS then keep it there.

Shouldn't be. ATi sort of stepped in and laid the law on clock speeds. Not to say that i'm wrong, but if i remember right most cards are made by saphire.
What brand are you looking at and maybe that could help!
since it is a gateway mb, probably go w/31.00 but, if you have good internet speed, might try the newest drivers from nvidia. They may be faster, may not. but the 31 should work w/o a hiccup.

TURN TRUFORM OFF! it is about worthless, uses power from your vid card, and leaves some artifacts in most games. That might be your prob. but i doubt it. Sorry i can't help more but im having probs with my AIW8500. I only get 7650 in 3dmark. if i find something, i'll let you know.

I can't seem to get fast writes to work! My bios supports them (8kha+) and i thought the 8500 did. Is it an AIW thing? Any help would be awesome!

Dude that is messed up! but doubt it's your drivers being you have a different hd and new vid card. But I might suggest patching all those games before playing them because some of those games don't like newer hardware (cs) and some newer games(gta3) don't like some of those card, mobo combos...
I'm having tons of trouble making Knoppix(bootable version of linux, runs entirely on cd) work. I need help making a bootable disc in Nero. Any walk-throughs you can point me to would be AWESOME! or any help is much appreciated.

Sorry so many probs with 9700 but it may be how you install the drivers.
Make sure you install the driver and restart BEFORE you install the control panel.
Also, when uninstalling, do the control panel uninstall first, restart, then uninstall the old drivers.
Any other way makes my system...
after you uninstall the last drivers you had and restart, go into search and type ati*.* and delete anything you see. then go to ati and install catalyst 3.0, along with dx9 from m$, and see if that works. I hope it does the trick.

probably a gf4 mx would work or, if you are wanting an adventure, i think the made a radeon 9000 in a pci form(not sure). But you may also want to consider the NEW All-in-wonder VE from ATi. It looks nice for a pci with all those features.

i would go with ati. but as for dx9 compliant is not totally true. yes it will run dx9 but wont have any dx9 hardware support but it will have dx8.1 support. who cares, no games run on dx9 and few run on dx8.1. just go with ati.

just wonderin' if you have power strip/or any overclock tool to overclock ur card. if so boot up with the ati and uninstall the overclock program. then try and boot up.

Now i might be wrong but unless you have a top of the line CPU and some awesome memory that is tweaked, it is just more useless bandwidth. The radeon 9700 pro doesn't have a system as of yet to take full advantage of it's awesome bandwidth and the GFX is suppose to have more.

If you don't like them there radeons, then I would get a Cheap, but name brand, ti4200 with 128mb and that will hold you over till doom3 comes out. By then ATi's New chip will come out and push the price of the GFX down to a reasonable price.
have you tried a single monitor startup using both monitors at different times? My guess is that either something has gone wrong with the dual display or your bios (don't know why but weird things happen) got tweaked and now you need to go back and un-tweak it.

I have the, almost, exact card and it does about any game (except UT 2003) pretty good at 800x600 sometimes even 1024x768. But if your not a gamer (I'm a pretty light gamer) then you will love it! And for that price you can't go too far wrong.
