Vantec stealth + case + Power supply

I would not really worry about what you consider to be a problem though. If your temps are fine leave well enough alone I say. I meant the plate as a physical separation mounted midway between the HSF unit and the intake of your PSU. This would separate the airflow "sharing" between those two...

Looking for QUIET Socket-A HSF

The AX-7 is a great HS. Just make be careful when mounting it. It can come very close to the capacitors around the socket on some motherboards. I use an AX-7 paired with a Panaflo High. At full load (during the winter) right now with the fan on full speed it keeps things at a nice 48 degrees...

how to differentiate thermalright slk800,700,600,sk6,sk7..?

I wanna buy, but where

Bigfoot Computers is also a pretty decent store. They have the Alpa in stock right now. Its a smaller selection of stuff than NCIX but Bigfoot is more of a modding gear store. So they have a bit larger selection of fans and stuff.

How to re-texturize the case panel?

Not sure I completely understand what you mean. If you are refering to the bottom side of the screw head having a textured finish to grip the case. It isn't necessary for it to dig into the paint to secure the case panels. Of course you can repaint around the holes if you'd like. Most case...

HOW DOES ONE MOUNT A PANAFLO L1A AT REAR OF CASE?

A 10-24 machine screw will also work. But doesn't make for a very clean appearance. However as a cheap temporary measure they work great. I usually can find a few kicking around in my basement whenever I run out of the self tapping case fan screws mentioned above.

twin power LEDs

I was thinking that I could install two LEDs in parallel on the Power Header of the motherboard. My IDE Activity header doesn't work anymore, but the LED is still good. Can anyone think of any problems with doing this?

Why nickel plated ramsinks?

Because nickel plating is thinner than chroming, reducing the impact of its reduced thermal conductivity. If they were made of plain copper they won't totally corrode and go green. But it will become noticeably duller in appearance. And why have dull looking copper sinks when you can have...

92mm fan on a slk-800

recommend me a hs/f combo for athlon 1ghz

The Gc68 isn't great for OCing NEW CPUs because of its all aluminum construction. It will more than handle your Athlon 1GHz. But probably won't cut it when trying to heavily OC a high end Athlon XP (eg 2400+ and higher). Especially with the physically smaller cores of the ThoroughBreds.

Whats a good quite mobo chipset cooler?

Wanted quiet P/S to replace Aopen FSP300-60GT 300 W supply. EDIT: Doh! My Aopen already had a temp-controlled fan.

Swapping the PSU fans is a tried an true way of quieting your PSU. It also voids your warranty. Its up to you. If you feel don't have good protection or clean power from your household circuitry, you'd be best off getting a new PSU.

Ideally, yes you would want to bring in fresh air closest to the CPU, but all the other compnents in your computer create heat too. And you need to get the hot air away from the CPU. Putting an intake at the rear does not effectively accomplish this. (okay it would if you put a Vantec Tornado...

The IDE specs only allow for 18 inch cables... you won't get very far outside of your case. This is why they don't make external IDE enclosures. You will only find external IDE enclosures that connect via USB/Firewire/SCSI. Edit: What about adding the additional hard drives into 5.25 inch...

USB 1.1 vs 2.0 front access

They should work at USB 2.0. Worst case is that they'll work at USB 1.1, but they will work. I only use my front connectors for things like joysticks/game pads, so I wouldn't notice a difference anyways. Confused: As for a wire's capability to handle the bandwidth difference, good luck...

I need a SMALL case w/ 120mm fan holes

A 120mm fan on the the rear for an exhaust is going to take up quite a bit of room. Which is contrary to the designs of most small cases. I don't think many manufacturers would see enough demand for such a product to produce it (of course some one will find one just to prove me wrong though!)...
