how about an extreme UNDER clock.. say set the fsb to 133 or 100, or will the voltage regulator effect that speed just to see if she boots

How do you know when you need more power?

if you hear your fans laboring(changing velocity) while multitasking, mite mean you need a tad more wattage in your system.

oh!...now i see.!! a 32 bit bus, and a 64bit bus w/ a 320 controller will give the same data transfer(someone should tell TYAN and all the other server mobo manufacturures) you know what..... given the choice of a 32 bit/64 bit bus-w/ a 320 controller... i think ill take the 64 bit...

the gigabyte site claims that it is 320 mbs of data transfer,but they say nothing about 64 bit controlling. i hope it is not a 64 bit scsi controller soldered on a 32 bit pci controller. if someone purchases this monster , i would love to see some atto results this mobp is my next purchase if it...

Has anyone tried the 4/3 ratio w/ the 'magic' dip switch in the default mode? it is worth a try. i am still tempted to try the p4b533vm and a mobil processor, but i want to make sure the latest bios gives a fsb over 200. last time i looked it did not

ya see.... a 4:3 mem divider is really needed after all... to take the mem out of the equasion. all the things we thought we would never need!!

Mikki.. printer port also disabled? i found my 3v rail to be more stable when i disabled the printer port on the p4b533. the fix was getting a $15 cable that converts the printer socket to a usb socket(win xp sniffed it out no pbm) Mikki... i am sure you have a lot of people anxious for your...

How high do you have your 2.8GHz p4 oclocked?

I noticed in your sig you have two sticks of mem. try only one stick in the slot closest to the cpu(O.CING 101). that processor should swim well over 3 gigs w/ out breaking a sweat.

1GB of Corsair XMS3500 = smooth sailing @ 392mhz!

TYAN seems to be an overlooked mobo manuf. on this board. when TYAN releases their version, and i like what i see in the bios(via manual download) i will try it. I have always liked tyan , but ASUS seemed to be what the heavy hitters on anandtech seem to like.

if it is the dual channel (its been a while ,now i have the tekram) i had problems burning on the 50 pin channel w/ the adaptec, when it was oc,d. The tekram controller has been great to me. how out of spec is the pci slot? if you are a chronic and hopeless oc'er, you are better off w/ a scsi...

162 mhz fsb for a whopping 3.402 the drawback.. i need to run my fans @ a higher rpm to cool it better and higher rpm = noise

LH i also agree w/ fujitsu.. i have a 10k, and a 15k. they are quieter than my 15kcheetah(that annoying tick sound) but i find the fujitsus run a little hotter

Unfortunately those server type boards, w/ one or two 64 bit pci slots, only have onboard video, and NO agp slot. i too, along w/ alot others, would love to have a 64 bit slot(to take full advantage of my scsi controller). i have always been a TYAN fan, but they dont quite make a server/ desktop...
