Batch file question

Looks like I was able to answer my own question. I made a guess and added a modifier of /y to the end of the command string. Then when ever a prompt occurs from that command, it automatically answers yes to the prompt.

Batch file question

I am using the "net use" command. As I know it, the persistent modifier is used to determine whether the connection made by the net use command will exist upon the next login. It doesn't control prompts during the running of the batch file.

The problem here is that dos/the batch file/a command prompt doesn't see the drive since it is disconnected. While windows can access it, dos can't access it until it has been connected. I just get a "The system cannot find the drive specified" error. I think I may have to go with a...

This option doesn't seem to work. The command window can't access a disconnected network drive. A shortcut in windows can, but not dos. I think this is a server level problem, most likely caused because we added new systems. It isn't the timeout error referenced in the microsoft support...

Unfortently I can't use the net use command. The network drives all point to a share that has the & charactor in its name.(I didn't do it, before my time here :-) Dos doesn't seem to be able to recognize that charactor.

There is a checkbox when you map a drive to reconnect at login. That box was checked. It is some other issue unfortently. I've also now noticed that occasionally when I look at the system, all the drives will be connected, but on next boot up, they are all disconnected again.

Unusual setup - need Wireless advice

Supposedly this 802.11b access point can go up to 457m outdoors. If you have too many trees in your area, and it can't go the distance, This should do the trick for you. Its instructions on how to make a antenue to boost hte gain.

I did this a while back. W/ Windows If you have more then 10 users, you'll need to go to 2000 server, and get more licenses. Something else to keep in mind is if you have a lot of users accessing the computer at the same time a 633 celeron may be to slow.

I looked and d-link has the same camera in a ethernet version for 150 less. I do have a lot of ethernet ports, I may be able to do this in a wired version. Are there any other products out there that do what the d-link does in a wired ethernet version?

Hey all, I have a gerneral question. Is there s new way that encrypts web traffic for purchases that does not show the little lock at teh bottom of the browser. The reason I ask is I've seen a few web sites recently that say they are encrypted, but the lock isn't there. Any thoughts?
