Can I get this to run with a current OS or do I need to get a whole new mobo?
I see conflicting information out there and not quite smart enough to finger it out.

I have a 8mm video camera and I want to take the video on there and get it to my PC and capture the video so I can get some program to make it into DVD's possibly edit them etc. for my son.
Any help in this regard would be great.

Put some new memory in the laptop and it is only showing half the size. Is there something I could be doing wrong. Pretty simple plug and play.

BTW I have a Sony Vaio with a 3Gig pentium with Windows XP
It doesn't seemingly support that res...silly me. If it did 1280 x 720 well that is all good wtih me. I have a DVI/HDMI cable coming...hopefully that will look good.
It should support 720P so...that should be all good. I will let you guys know how it comes out.

I was just about to post I am going from DVI to a dvi/vga adapter then to the TV. I am going to get a DVI/HDMI adapter and I am betting that will make the differnce. I still don't see why I can't get the native resolution of 1366X768 to be an option though.
I have hooked my PC up to my Viewsonic 40" and I can get it to display at its native resolution.
There is an option for 1360 X 768 but that doesn't look good either. I have tried powerstrip and that doesn't seem to work as well. I have an X800 series video card.

Hey guys I was looking for a new motherboard today and I have 2 X 512MB of PC2700 and 1 X 1Gig of PC 2700 can I put these into a dual channel motherboard. I didn't think I could until I looked at the Asrock...it almost looks like I can.

For the difference in price I could buy ram or a raptor HD. I am talking about the CPU and Mobo.
I looked at the Smithfield Dualcores for the same reason but I am going to pull the trigger on an AM2
I will say that I am a AMD fanboi however I am looking at Conroe but due to the higher price...even 6300's/6400's and the absolute rediculous price of the motherboards I think Intel is making a big mistake here. They are only going to have 25% of their line being Conroe by the end of the year...
Additionally I have gotten through the other hoops but now I get write failures unless it is a small transfer. I have 2 usb plugs that go to the back of the case and put a 5.9 volt adapter powering it...very strange. I ran the WD diagnostics on it and came back good.

What does the stock ddr2 speed run at 4200 speed? So what would be the 250fsb equivalent? Everyone says get teh ddr2 800, but those are the same people worrying about getting 275 fsb on their memory when it didn't make crap for real world differences.

have a usb case and I put a laptop drive in and windows recognizes it in the device manager but it does not show up anywhere. Originally I had another Laptop hard drive in there but it died. I thought it would be simple plug and play but it won't show up so I can't format/use it.

When I pull a CD out and put another one in...it reads it as if the last disc was still in there. The ONLY way I can get it to snap out of it is to reboot the computer. What is causing this and how do I stop the madness?

Because I made my website in Publisher 98 and publisher 2007 is messing it up and I can't update my site now. I can either rebuild it in 2007 which I don't know all the ins and outs and I don't know how long I will be able to keep it in beta form or I uninstall it and go back to what I know.
