Can I install WIndows 7 onto a portable USB hard drive?

sorry to bring it up, but just tried and gives me an 'cannot do' type error when i tried installing onto a usb hd... there's prolly some .ini files that need to be edited (like for win xp)

in the long run, do you think having that pcb faced up would make it last less longer? i ask because i just blew a psu and i was wondering about what i could do to build the most stable system possible. thanks!

Is the pcb of the lite-on supposed to face downwards, with the heatsink facing upwards (in relation to being in the computer case)? I ask because on my case, the screw holes are placed so that the psu's pcb goes up, with the heatsink down, and i think that would kinda defeat the purpose to...

Abit KG7 RAID motherboard- $47. plus s&h - It's baaack at the Geeks!

anyone having latency issues (pci or ide) w/ the board? I ran sandra for tweak wiz and it told me that my pci latency on my linksys nic's were too high. when i tried using breeze patch, it says i wasn't supposed to use it for hybrid sets like the kg7. also, i think my hd's are also running...

Is there a way in web2pop to leave your messages on the yahoo server? for me, my yahoo mails get pulled out and i can't find an option to disable it. thanks

Update w/ Current prices, Awesome Evercase @ newegg - $59 for black (w/ psu)shipped $39 for black (w/o psu) shipped....

I'm buying high speed fans for my case and am curious if this case will fit a 92mm fan for the exhaust? I know I'll have to drill new holes, i'm just curious if it will fit... it will fit a 92 mm fan...i'm currently making some mods with that and a fromt 120 (which also fits)

poor man's case cooling...

For all those poor students (and other underprivileged people) out there...if you've ever tried cooling your case by setting it directly on top of your ac vent, do you ever have problems with precipatation or anything?

does anyone know of a program like memtest86 that can test video ram? i saw some programs, but i need one that supports 128 megs of vram on a gf3. thanks for your help!

To pink or not?

i'm sure this is posted around here somewhere, but couldn't pull up anything on the search... w/ a heatsink that already has that pink square on the bottom, is that ok to use, say w/ a xp 1800? or would it be better to go w/ artic silver? thanks alot!

lights and sound

i think i heard of it before, but has anyone ever tried hooking up a cold cathode to their sound system so that it lights up to the bass? if so, is there an easy way of doing it?

Q: an open case=cooler?

thanks all... i also heard along the way that w/o the metal side panel, the internal parts (like hd) are more vulnurable and exposed to electromag pulse?/interference? but i dunno if this is just myth and weather if it noticibly affects anything...

Q: an open case=cooler?

it seems like a basic q, but haven't been able to find an answer... if you can put up with the looks and increased noise, would leaving your case open (ie taking the cover off) provide cool temps w/o having to get case fans? just wondering...
