USB Cable question

I recently acquired an external hard drive. The drive is USB powered and the end of the cable that connects to the computer has 2 connectors on it. Is this to provide additional power to the drive?

Biostar MCP6P M2+ OC problems

I have a Phenom 8750 on a Biostar MCP6P M2+ with 4 gig of PNY 800MHz ram. If I raise the clock speed even 5MHz from 200 to 205 it will often give a message on boot that it is defaulting to standard frequencies. I've had it boot sucessfully at 2.8GHz and when it does boot it runs fine and will...

Freeware DRM remover for M4V files?

Does anybody know of a freeware DRM remover that will convert Itunes M4V video files. I only need it for one movie. Wasn't aware of Apple's desire that their movie downloads be played only on their products. Thanks

Got the same message. Don't think many of these are going to be shipped to forum members. Apparently anybody qualified for the unit would have previously received an email and AT&T knows who those people are.

Will This Short Out The MB.........

Have you tried loosening all the screws that secure the board to the case and seeing if the board can be biased away from the expansion covers?

I think I'll have to rethink the motherboard. This particular ECS board does not allow unlockin cores on dual and triple core AMD processors. That's kind of strange for a 785 board.

I'm currently running Win7 64 bit on a homebuilt. CPU is a Athelon X2 3600 @ 2.7GHZ, 4 gig of PC 3200 ram, An EVGA 8800GSO 384 meg, a WD 250gig SATA drive and an Antec 400 watt Smart Power. I'd like a few more fps in FSX. I'm considering upgrading to an EVGA 9800 series card. Good idea or...

Windows 7 doesn't like NEC 3550a DVD Burner??

Mine works just fine with Win 7. I'd been running the RC and just installed the released version in 64 bit and it's never given me a problem playing or recording.

WFWG 3.11 was decent. How did you like ME? I had to send my copy back to the MotherShip for a refund because it would not install on my computer. So far Win7, I'm still running the RC, is the best and most stable operating system I've had.

Upgrading from Win XP (32bit) to Win 7 (64bit) - upgrade ?

I have XP 32bit installed. I'm getting Win 7 Home Premium and want to install the 64 bit version. Will I have to reinstall XP if I ever have to reinstall Win7 64?.

Buy Vista 32bit how do you download 64bit and Win7 Coupon

I have read several places that the Win 7 dvd will include both 32 and 64 bit. This makes sense because when I pre ordered Win 7 there was no 32 - 64 bit choice. You can get a 64 bit Vista disk from Microsoft for $10. They just need proof you have bought the 32 bit version.

Is Vista Worth it?

If you buy 32 bit Vista you can get a 64bit copy from Microsoft for $10 shipped. Then you can load both and see which you prefer.

8800gs overclock for crysis warhead

My GS won't go over 747/1755/1060 without artifacting on ATI tool. The shader is lower than it would be locked to the core. Locked to the core @ 747 core the shader clock would be 1861 and it will not run at that speed. Stock for my card is 650/1620/950 so I've gotten a decent overclock.

Have you considered modding the bios to get an additional 0.1 volt? I modded the bios on my EVGA 8800GS primarily to change the fan profile but also for the extra voltage.
