It's dead. Just a matter of time before they disconnect that cyberwings.com server...
30 existing customers + no new customers + bandwidth bills + time = OUT OF BUSINESS
I can only guess 2checkout is taking it on the chin for the sake of their customers when refunding Cyberwings chargebacks.
When I processed chargebacks, it cost the company $30 per chargeback. That means 2checkout is going to have quite a bill to collect from CEO when all is said and done...
I agree with Monty. We need to relax, sit back, take a deep breath, and wait for the new datacenter cables to arrive. Cause Shawn's gonna make you all eat your words when I'm back up with my 40G transfer, unlimited e-mail, 1 gig storage website for the lifetime price of $6. Yeah, BABY...
...yeah, Cyberwings will now "Relaunch in Late Summer - Early Fall 2002" ---
No crook could be this stupid.... CEO must just simply be the biggest jacka$$ in the hosting business.
When is this guy going to jail????
Take a gander....
Cyberwings is not registered in the state of Maine anymore by CEO-Shawn. Someone else snatched up the name with the state!
(Yesterday, it read "Expired" with Shawn's name on it.)
:D
I've heard through what appears to ber a realizbler source that supposedly Cyberwings is already behind on the bandwidth bill.
Watch out for another round of sales!!! :D
Sorry if this has been covered, but I just received an e-mail from PayPal stating that they've investigated Cyberwings and found them in fault, however, they could not recover my funds from their account.
I'm just getting back up to speed now (I'm out of town at the moment) and will be using...
FYI - It's 1 or three refunds, not considering dollars. Yeah, it's good that roughly 75% of all refunds dollars are paid via Cyberwings... But piss poor when the total refund percent is only 6.4%. I, for one, am in the other 93.6% that haven't got a refund.
I don't think today was a big "Cyberwings News Day" -- this forum has been pretty quiet, and the Cyberwings home page is still the Admin page for Plesk. However....
THE RESULTS ARE IN!
Thanks for sending me information regarding your "investment" into Cyberwings. Over the past 24 hours, I...
Strange that after all this time the Cyberwings.com website is nothing more than a Plesk screen. I mean, how hard is it to say "coming soon" -- or anything other than a Plesk Admin page? And why is it going up and down all the time???? This company is sooooo incredibly shakey.
I bet when...
In my opinion, if you're running a business site YES change services!!! I don't think there's anyone that would doubt Cyberwings lack of reliable service at this point. It doesn't cost much at all to switch to a much more reliable provider. I did, and for about $40 a year I'm in much better...
I like how, in CEO's words, "the new DC is up and functional 100%" -- then the rest of the e-mail talks about how he's got more PC's to configure, 'cause only two are running. Plus, no talk about reloading customer accounts into Plesk.
Of course, everything's down again and Cyberwings support...
This bit of "good news" for Cyberwings is temporary. I'm not suprised they're back up -- now it's time to see how long they'll stay up. And the next time they go down, what stance will CEO-Shawn take with his customers?
Remember, they're really up yet. They've got customers to load into Plesk...
I've had a philosophy that you don't skimp on monitors (after all, this is the part of your computer you're looking at the most ;)). I never skimp and my monitors last me for years without complaint.
This monitor is .27 pitch and max refresh of 70 megahertz, with 1024x768 resolution. I've...
OK - this is second post for those that didn't get it in the first time:
Send me a mail and let me know 1) how much money you've dumped into cyberwings, and 2) if you've requested a refund, have you actually received it. If you're game and send me this info, I'll put together regular summaries...
Wow - this guys attacking ME now --- Hey, if someone wants to go through the trouble and create a little system -- go for it. I'll be happy to send you any of the info I've been able to collect.
I wonder HOW MUCH MONEY Cyberwings is getting away with.
I've got an idea - I don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try...
Send me a mail and let me know 1) how much money you've dumped into cyberwings, and 2) if you've requested a refund, have you actually received it.
If you're game...
I've taken the advise of many people in this thread and picked Dixiesys. They've been perfect, prompt, and courteous. Oh, yeah -- they've been UP too.. And they're running July specials, too. ;)
CEO-Shawn can pay for anything... after all, he's king in his Cyberwings world of make believe. I'm sure the lawyers and see the injustice against Shawn and help him out of sheer principle.
I was thinking about that too --- Was Shawn purposely stringing his customers along so that they'd past the 30 days and lose protection under PayPal's claim process? I don't think CEO-Shawn is that smart. Really. But I certainly do think he lies to his customers. Well, look -- he either lies or...
What does it matter? The "support staff" in #cyberwings can't really do any supporting without web servers, access to CSR system, any information from CEO, blah blah blah and hickory dickory doc....
It's ridiculous they even maintain the support room.
Post 30 days, and I think with PayPal you're outta luck, Bit. But send them a letter and see what they suggest you do. There may another kind purchase protection you still qualify for. Also, if your PayPal account is linked to your Bank account, your bank may also offer help.
But all in all...
I wish I knew the law better - cause there's got to be a law in this Cyberwings story that Shawn's broken.
I think this is all gross incompetence on CEO's part... but that doesn't excuse the legal side of things. Of course, who's going to want to persue action against him for a $4.00 account...
OK all of Cyberwing's servers, irc, status pages have been down for a couple hours -- this after a series of highly religious/spiritual speaches from Shawn's wife - PAM. Apparantly, CEO's wife had enough. I can't blame her.
Any dibbs on whether they're EVER resume service?
You'd think CEO...
You're right - I bought the WRONG PROCESSOR from Package2You :( So I ordered a 1.4 Athalon from Googlegear for 80 smackers. I'm going to sell my SLOT A chip on eBay soon.
This was my find -- sorry it ended up throwing up on us! :S
I was booted from webchat (Java based chat client) too -- But I loaded up MiRC and was back in. No Problemo. But why do I go in there? The "reps" have nothing to say except turn on moderation when people start talking about alternate hosting firms.
There's been a gentle sigh of relief today...
The "customer service reps" are now getting mad at the customer conduct in IRC.
On rep was litterally saying that God was upset with the conduct in the chat room.
Is "GOD" a technical anacronym for some techie thing I'm not aware of?
Good point. My bad. Technically, however, the other thread is discussing the "2-3 days downtime" --- This one is talking about perminent downtime.
And Yes, IRC is back up. See, this is a sign that CEO is restoring service! :)
For all those sick and tired of reading about Cyberwings "Communications" in the AT HOT DEALS forum:
UPDATE
======
1. Cyberwings Hosting (Maine) is DOWN (no suprise there) since July 3.
2. Cwstatus, the off-site status page is DOWN
3. Their RackShack servers in Houston are DOWN (since this...
-- Oh yeah -- and it's SATURDAY (the last day from his latest "Thur-Sat we'll be up" prediction).
Cyberwings STILL pings from Lightship. No DNS/Name Server changes have been made. Isn't this really damaging proof that CEO is pulling the wool over everyone's eyes? (beyond all the 4th grade...
Paypal's policy is to give 10 days for the seller (Cyberwings) to remedy the dispute. PayPal does not have an "automatic refund policy" -- that would be an insane business practice. I didn't buy that for a second. He's stalling.
I would imagine about now, there are waves of PayPal disputes...
OK - it's now Friday -- Cyberwings is still pinging through lightship.
He said service would start coming up Thurs-Saturday. So he better hope propegation happens quick. Or he's going to get hit with another swarm of chargebacks, PayPal reversals, and no chance in heck his business will make...
You better do it fast, though -- because you probably won't be able to rub it in our faces for long. Keep in mind before this happened, Cyberwings had a slightly shakey rep, but now Cyberwings has got to have the worst rep in the hosting business. This will hurt future sales, and with a...
I haven't got an automatic refund yet - as Shawn has promised, in writing at cwstatus --- by the way THIS site is down right now too. This guy can't keep a server up to save his life :|
