Some refurb prices I just dug up from newegg..
AMD Athlon 64 2800+ $125.90
AOpen nForce3 150 MK89-L $50.00
Total $175.90 shipped
OR
AMD Sempron 2800+ $96
ECS KT600-A $29
Total $ 125 shipped
I'd personally lean to the second option if you wanted to upgrade... the KT600 is a...
yeah, I'm glad to see that we are getting 7GB/sec from the memory now on the Intel side of things. I'm not sure of any program that can't put that much use on memory bandwidth, but at least the i925x chipsets can handle it.
I've been waiting to see someone start to overclock these new LGA775 systems and the time has arrived!
Legit Reviews has overclocked some of the retail Crucial PC2-4200 memory up to DDR722!!!
Here is the link with the info!
Kenazo,
They aren't trying to hide anything... Most the time a comapny just uses the same SPD code for all modules... just tweak the CL's and they are done. This is why most have PC-3200 listed. This is the last JEDEC spec anyway. No worries your memory is correct.
Corsair does test all XMS memory before shipping it out. I remember looking at this Review.
Try asking the above question in Corsair's Forum and see if RamGuy can help ya
yeah I saw that -- Imagine those small closed up Dell and Gateway PC's! Or I swear I saw a company say they were putting Prescott's into a Laptop! I can see all the "burnt leg" law suits now!
Was checking the review sites for the morning updates and saw that Legit Reviews looked at a number of cooling solutions while using the 3.2GHz Prescott to warm them up. Gets Pretty hot, but they got the numbers down in the 40's at the end! Not too shabby.
HERE is the Linky
I just saw this posted in another forum I was surfing in and it may help some others out!
Looks like Mushkin sent some modules out that had some bad SPD's... If you bought some Mushkin recently I'd check this out.
Benchmarks and more info here!
might want to copy and paste this at Reseller Ratings might do more good there and not in the overclocking section of the anandtech forums :)
But yeah Newegg owns :)
HyperX came out today and is on sale today and in stock....Looks like OCZ paper launched theirs...no prices, no place to order it, nothing...
looks like they got pressure from kingston IMHO
hopefully a little more voltage and tricks will get these to run at lower timings...guess we will find out. Someone order these bad boys up and tell us :)
dunno....time will tell I guess. 2.8V+ usually works wonders on tight timings so I can't wait to see what people on anandtech forums will get as far as results go
Went to my fav review site and saw this press release with prices!!!

Kingston only puts out a product that is stable so I am sure these will be quality
**UPDATE** These are using Samsung Chips
I know LegitReviews.com was having many BIOS issues with the DFI 875Pro also. Linky
They had the board before it was released and for the 4 weeks they had it they never got a "perfect" working bios!
I just saw that Legit Reviews posted a review of the ABIT IS7 with the new beta BIOS I guess last night.
They got some really amazing results and thought you guys might like the read!
