So you have to be a programmer to know what you're talking about when it comes to overclocking? Are you serious? Have you actually tested all the benchmark settings like we have or are you just relying on your "superior hard technical knowledge" when you post this stuff?? :Q

Anyone here run a P4-M on a desktop rig?

MercenaryForHire, I don't remember the temps, but they were lower than any P4 I've had by at least a couple degrees. I had mine running in my P4B533-E (i845e) stable at 216fsb, also ran it in my P4G8X, but I wouldn't suggest using that board as it has problems with high fsb's. I paid more than...

Sorry mate, you're gonna have to define "POS"...I have at least a year's experience of tweaking and playing with every ver of Windows, there's nothing I do that I would need to use an upgraded OS, and now with Thugsrook's tweak it's got a bit better...;) I have no intention of soiling this fine...

P4 2.53GHZ, what motherboard to use?

Another idea which may or may not be good, depending on how you look at it, is to check out the Motherboard Room, I would think that they might possibly have some info about motherboards in there.....

The problem I see with that is how far is someone willing to search thru it? If someone comes with a question, and sees the thread with 500+ replies, do you think they'll look thru it or just start a thread like they do now? I still think the best option is a seperate room with stickied...

I'll definitely agree that WinXP is a very stable OS, but I definitely disagree that it's more stable than Win98. I used XP for a year on my machine and still use it on the wife/kid's machine. I've NEVER had a problem in Windows that wasn't directly related to oc'ing...that's XP or 98. So...

Thugsrook, yep, 207fsb---and I ain't done yet...;) Thought I'd give the emmy one more go before I sell it...:) Yozza, the lock works perfectly up to 170fsb, haven't tested further yet...:)
