Cool stuff, Thugs, looking forward to some great scores. I'm expecting my SLK-900 to arrive tomorrow and some better fans. Maybe I can then push it past 284mhz fsb. :P

    Corsair TwinX 3700... hmmm :)

A friend and I were waiting for corsair to annouce their new twinx ram and so we put our orders on old. When we found out it was going to be CAS3 ram, we just ignored it and purchased 1Gb of XMS PC3500C2 each. Haven't tried PC3700 speeds yet but we'll be testing that speed out soon, prolly at...

I agree with 5150Joker, install WinXP Pro (i heard Home Edition sucks) and then try memory benchmarks. Plus, with the setup you have, WinXP will be very fast and rock stable, provided your overclocked machine is stable. :P Anyway, try WinXP Pro.

    Samsung Memory PC2700?

Well, in 3 weeks of testing 3 different 512Mb PC2700 sticks - all of them Samsung 'DTL' based, I found that my current Samsung Original 512Mb PC2700 'DTL' stick is doing DDR400 quite easily. The first 2 sticks were bad. First one was a Samsung on 3rd and the 2nd stick was a used stick that...

Nope, I got my Samsung Original 512Mb 'DTL-TCB3' stick from www.overclockers.co.uk, unfortunately. I phoned them to complain about it but was told they test the modules before shipping them out. I am about to update my BG7's BIOS. I'm hoping that my Samsung Original will let me do more than DDR375 it currently does, and the temperatures are sorted out too. Let's hope I see some improvements. :D I'll let you know how it goes.

    P4B533-V Will not boot!!?!? HELP!

Have you checked to see if your CPU is seated properly in its socket? The same thing happened to me what you describe above, i.e. machine powers up for a split second then powers off (mobo's green LED still on). I found that the CPU lifted up a bit when I pushed the lever down to clamp it, so...

**OFFICIAL** Abit BG7 (i845G) Thread II

I'm kinda annoyed with the BG7, but then again, I'm also not sure if it's my BG7 or my Samsung Original DTL stick that's not giving me DDR400. P4 2.26B w/Samsung Original 512MB 'DTL' stick (in middle slot at the moment): 2.56GHz + DDR375 (vcore & vdimm at default) = 100% stable with...

Yeah it's strange. Even with my Corsair XMS2700 sticks - sold off now - had been doing DDR400 nicely on the ASUS P4B266 using the 3:4 ratio hack, but they really had a hard time doing DDR380 on this BG7. Something is up with the BG7, it sure needs a BIOS update by now. This is one thing I hate...

Hi Lizardman, thanks for your reply. Yep, I can boot into Windows XP fine at DDR400 (160MHz+4:5) but if I do anything, it crashes. I tried feeding 2.8v into the memory, it still crashes. Hmmm maybe I need to leave it running at DDR375 for about 2 weeks. =/

You're not the only one man. I had a similar problem with my 2 sticks of Corsair XMS2700 256Mb. They both worked great on the Asus P4B266, easily doing DDR400 on their using the 3:4 mobo hack. Knowing my Corsairs did DDR400, I thought I could prolly do better on the Abit BG7 but I was so wrong...

Rythan have you managed to overclock your 2.26B to 160MHz FSB? If so, can you see if it holds up OK when you play a game as intensive as America's Army. Correct burn-in procedure for Samsung PC2700?

I've ordered a stick of Samsung Original 512Mb from Overclockers.co.uk and - just to make sure - I was wondering what the correct burn-in method is in order to get it to run stable at DDR400/PC3200? My CPU is P4 2.26B and my mobo is Abit BG7. TIA guys!

New computer: HDD & CD won't work -- Help!

New computer: HDD & CD won't work -- Help!

Hi, my friend just bought an Athlon XP 1800+ with a new HDD , case with 300w psu and a mobo with onboard gf2 + sound. The EPoX 4G4A+ seems very promising.

Hmmm gsethi, my friend, have you run 3DMark2001SE or CPUBURN4's BurnMMX/BX tests to see if your memory can handle 160/3:4 or 163/3:4 settings? :D Correct me if i'm wrong but I think Prime95 just tests the CPU and not other components
