No I got a 2C drop when changing HSF. 1.700 Vcore, @2ghz, slk-900 = 44C Default Vcore, Default SPD, slk = 40C Default Vcore, Default SPD, Volcano 7+ Silent = 42C EDIT: WHat the heck are your temps beatle (checked your tbred system)??

What I neglected to mention was that non OCd, I only got a 2C drop changing from "Volcano 7+ Silent" to slk-900U + 50cfm fan EDIT: 1.7volt, I think I can run it default @ 2ghz but I like to be on the safe side

Why is it so hot!?

I'm running my tbred B 2200+ @ 2.0Ghz It's 44C, that's 14C above case temps (30C)! Yes it's OC'd but I'm cooling it with a slk-900u + 50cfm Fan I have used both AS3 and Ceramique! WHAT the hell! Guess I'll just reapply the AS3 again.

80W peltier questions

I think you should replace the 9800Pro and 256 RAM with a 9700pro and 512 RAM <- In reply to Hypersonic 5 9700Pro is still a very good graphics card that hangs on to the 9800Pro quite well, however 512ram makes a huge differance to 256ram

best silent cooling solution EVER

Vsync - On or Off?

In CounterStrike I have 60fps with Vsync on and it's completely fluid, It stays @ 60 because of the Win 2K/Xp refresh rate bug. Now if i turn off Vsync I get 99fps (max fps in CS) but the graphics look and seem like I've got som old software graphics card running 30fps, SO I KEEP IT ON! EDIT...

U320 SCSI RAID 0 vs IDE RAID 0? How big a performance difference is there?

How about SATA raid - somewhere in between, or not actually inbetween because its pretty close to IDE raid but there should be a sligt performance increase. However the only SATA raid setup I could imagine is noticebly faster would be running Raptor drives @ 10000rpm that only have 36gig/disk.

What is so good about Gigabit Lan?

Today gigabit internet could really only benefit us consumers (without paying loads of cash) in a few apps. The only affordable switches I've seen today with gigabit only have one gigabit port and the rest @ 10/100. This kind of switch could be very useful if hosting a gameserver or something...

Final System Specs At $1000, Look Good?

Newer MMORPGs (Starwars Galaxies in mind) seem to be very RAM thirsty so I'd vote for 1gig ram. I don't reccon the 9600pro will handle World of Warcraft with eye candy very well by the look of existing screenshots. Again, Starwars Galaxies seems to be pretty graphics intensive. I don't think...

No the board worked fine with the new memory... Untill I changed CAS, Cas to Ras, Ras precharge and something else to do with the memory... anyway I have ordered a new proccessor, if that doesn't work I'm gonna throw my computer out from a 10 story house, then beat it with a 10kg sledgehammer...

Seriously, what is the best mouse for gaming?

I'd like to see a Razer Boomslang with dual 2000dpi optical sensors... Love the Boomslang however cleaning out the ball can be a pain in the arse... I'd say my vote goes to Logitech Mouseman dual Optical... Don't like the shape of the explorer 3.0
