Help setting up router as AP

Making a wireless router into an AP is simply "bridging" it. Mainly, disable the DHCP.

Good job on the CPU paste application. I use a razor blade too and put a nice thin coat from corner to corner. Not too many do this as most dab a dimes worth in the center then attach the heat sink.

Well my 1000W Silverstone crapped out...

Seasonic or Corsair will bail you out for another few years. TX models or better. I've been suing them for the past 8 years....not one has failed on several computers.

New to SSDs? Read this first before asking questions! (UPDATED 07/17/2011)

For those who haven't heard...OCZ filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and Toshiba is purchasing all of OCZ's SSD technology including the hardware. Apparently, the power supply and DRAM products are not part of this buyout.

Picking an i5-4670K Board

The Asus Z87 Plus is a good choice because it has a few more connections such as: Display Port, 2 PCI slots and if you compare the two at the Asus website, it's the features, not performance that differ from all the Z87 models. UEFI bios has been the new bios standard for about 3 years now...

Great, the FSB would change if you lower the memory speed. CPU speed and FSB speeds both increase performance via overclocking memory and the cpu. So, you are now 600MHz faster on the cpu for free and 800MHz quicker on the memory as well. Leave it as it is and if you were to change any...

By the way, I'm using the stock Intel heatsink and fan and Corsair Twin2X 8500C5 1066 2X2048 memory. When on sale, it's around $60 and well worth it. Also, the Asus Ai Tweeker software does not work without bugs, uninstall that "Green Friendly" junk and just do the above in the bios for best...

Your memory will be a factor with the settings I provided. In the DRAM Freq field, you won't see a 1066 setting likely so just choose one that is a bit higher than your default setting of 800. It's also possible the cpu won't clock that high with 800 memory however, if you have good memory...

That E8400 should over clock to 3.6GHz without changing any cpu voltage settings. It does well on Asus P5Q-E (P45) with 1066 memory set at 2.1 volts. Try the 9 multiplier with 400 FSB and memory and turn off all the cpu "Go green" features like speedstep. There's about 6 of those "Go Green"...

Switching from RAID to AHCI

AHCI is on the quiet according to all my research results and Intel says very little about it other than is does enable the hard drive performance features and allow full SATA 3 performance. Windows Vista and 7 (both are the same) have microsoft AHCI drives built in and with bios AHCI...

Antec P183 /P193

The P180, 182 and 183 need to have a few improvements. One of the big items I fail to see Antec implement is the "self latching" handles on the left side case door. They have these on the NSK models and they serve very well. Why a high end case would force the user to revert to thumb screws...

Just got my Panflow L1A fans in the mail...

Anyone know of 92mm or 120mm fan suppliers that sell the new 4 pin (PWM) fans which are to connect to a 4 pin header on the new 925X mother boards? These 4 Pin(PWM) get their speed control via the chipset rather than using a thermal chip on the fan itself as in the 3 pin models.

Sony GDM or F series except no black color, sorry. Once you try a Sony which does not use the industry standard shaddow mask, you will never go back. Sony tubes are crystal clear with a good video card and they perform. They are supported very well too. If there is a problem, Sony will replace...

Best case w/front USB from Newegg for a k7s5a/1.2ghz duron?

Newegg.com has an interesting website agreed. Best start is to go to CASES and go from there. Antec so far, seems the fine product. They put good quality parts in their boxes and provide almost equal quality as a Dell case does.
