hi i was wondering if there was a way to get a pcmcia or usb card that allows you to use your laptop monitor as an LCD display for your desktop computer
thanks
hi i was just curious if the display would be like a monitor on a flat tv, my reasoning is because lcd's are flat, so a flat tv in a big box is the same. i may be wrong. please let me know it would be cool to use a flat 20" as a monitor for my pc
Thanks for the imput, i found a good deal at the geeks, for a gf3 ti 500, $97 less with teh coupon code. I am really excited about this card should be plenty suffiecent for me
funny thing BOOM, i just read your post after i bought the ss51g, with the AGP, But i am still unsure what card to put in. I am thinking of a gf4 mx 440, is the TI important, what does it really do?

shuttle is releasing the ss51g that has an agp expansion slot and comes with Integrated SiS651 VGA. What chip does that onboard video compare too, I am pretty sure i will buy this system because of the future upgradability to an agp card when needed for the newest games.
gennro
that is very tempting since it is about half what i am expecting to pay for the small form factor shuttle. The enlight looks like a good case, but I really do like the smaller case size though.
well if ya already got the xp processor your going to have to go with the ss40g or wait for the ss41g. SInce the ss40g is so pricy right now i would wait for the newer model to come out with AGP
thanks peter and hans007,
I have one last question, what would the sis 315 64mb integrated grafics on the ss50 or ss40g compare to on a video card today like a geforce 2/3? I was only hopeing to play some sports games on my PC and they dont look like they are too demanding on the ram so 64...
The SS51 definatly looks the most impressive, but at around $380 it is pretty pricey. I think the AGP slot is a must if you are looking to have a gameing PC but otherwise The ss50 is only $275 from newegg and seems to be the best value. I would get the ss50 over the ss40g right now because...
man all this talk of p3 1 ghz being slow scares me. I got a p3 533 right now and a 32mb diamond s3. Well I can't seem to play any new games, i guess your not surprised. I think i may get the raedon 8500 for my next system, i am thinking p4 or athlon around 1.4 ghz. Would that be pretty...

I'm interested in the ss40g as well. I like all of the shuttle line, but am dissapointed that i need to put in another video card. Seems shortsided of shuttle to put in such weak graphics. The ss51g is comming out with AGP slots maybe we should wait for that, cause it would be...
I was eyeing the tv wonder card, can it really show video in the desktop constantly while you run other programs? And does the Tvio feature work well. IF so this is awsome. Also how much memorey does it take to run, is it hard to multitask with it?
thanks
Crazy saint: I really would like to have a small machine for college that doesnt take up much space. I am now a little worried about the video, i guess ill have to up that with an expansion card. I dont think that the other slim line cases offer any better video so if i ad a vid card i should...
