1) if you have problem with maxell dvd-r, then it's your burner's problem.
2) maxell makes its own dvd-r (+r is ritek).
3) yeah except you might loss your data later with the crappy media.
In my case I need to use the Cablevision-supplied HDTV receiver. Does that mean even with this card I'm *not* going to be able to record the TS stream digitally? In other word, it can only record the bastardized analog HDTV signal that comes off the receiver?
I had one with firmware 1.0g and the disc was unreadable in the middle, then I upgraded to 2.0f and my LiteOn 165H had problem reading the whole thing, but then the 165H had problem reading the Princo while my LF 4320B reads just everything fine.
So I don't know if it was a media problem or a...
Scored one 128MB purple TI4200 in Poughkeepsie NY. The reason? We didn't have the $79 deal 2 week ago and the ones on shelf are from the old (i.e., per-blue PCB) batches.
that's stupid. he can do only one rebate per address and god knows when will he get the rebate. by the time he gets the $$$ those card are dirt cheap already.
while you're at it, why don't you say no xvid/quicktime/dvd-audio/blu-ray support too?
and that KISS 450 - it doesn't support Divx 3 and guess what, it won't read DVD+R/RW either, and it costs more than US$400.
Same reason why you don't use a laptop as a portable mp3 or CD player, not to mention good luck teaching non-techno savvy people how to use your laptop just to play DVDs.
I saw one guy on another forum that he sent in the UPC code only they came back and said "sorry it's invalid and please send us the right one" and he's like totally stuck.
so...I'd say YMMV just like ANY rebate...they can still f**k you up in almost any way.
a) DW-U10A is just the OEM version DRU-500A
b) DRU-500AX is just DRU-500A with 1.0f firmware
My $299 DRU-500A outpost.com order is still "back ordered" at the mo, even though the page says "not available".
The outpost.com salesperson said they were expecting a shipment on the 11th and it didn't happen, and they have no idea when it will ship next.
The bestbuy.com order that I posted on the same day has already shipped...although that's like almost $70 more.
I've heard some horrible stories about those new M$ wireless products, like they need to be rebooted all the time and such. Do your research before ordering.
Rule of thumb -> Don't buy anything that's version 1.0 from M$.
Well, I haven't even opened the box so I'd ask for full refund if they dare to refuse to honor that coupon next week...
BTW, is this possible?
1) Go to Staples today, and PM that right away with OfficaMax's price, and slam the $15 coupon on top of it. ($80 - $15 = $65).
2) Go to Staples next...
Is there going to be a B&M-useable coupon then? I really don't want to buy this thing online 'cause you don't know which one (liteon/aopen/etc.) you'll be getting...
