Right now, the heatsink fan is oriented to shoot the air away from the mobo. I tried the other way for like 5 minutes once, but the temps were the same. I'll try it again.

I have the first Antec Sonata case. The only fan it allows is one 120 mm fan in the rear. I don't know about the front.

Nice suggestions, I'm going to get some sort of fan(s) for Christmas, I just have to decide on which. All those previous temps were at idle. Thanks again, and I'll be sure to post my results when I get my new shtuff.

Safemode has run this slowly before, but when I did the spyware scan a couple days ago in safe mode, nothing came up. I'll post my hijackthis results after I get back from class today.

Yes, I have 1.25 gbs of memory. I'm not really sure what processes take up the max CPU time because i usually reboot the machine before Windows finishes loading because it has taken so long.

Need some help cooling a Pentium 4

Welp, it took me nearly 2 months to get around to it but I got a new heatsink. The results were outstanding. Just to let you know, as time passed my stock intel heatsink become worse and worse, it started idling about 57 degrees Celcius and on a full load it will go up to 69 degrees(I believe...

You know, I was using a batch file to run the benchmark. I had it set up to run some recorded game file that I downloaded. Anywho, I just ran UMark with 0 bots at 1024x768 and got 184.8418 and at 1280x1024 with 6 bots I got 107 fps. I guess I was just being an idiot and comparing...

My computer should be running amazing BUT it isnt!!

I'm a little bummed. I just installed the newest chipset drivers and Ati drivers and I'm only getting 44.741080 fps on Unreal 2004. Tomorrow I'll try reinstalling XP and starting from the ground up. Thanks for the help, Jason

Alright, thanks a lot guys. Although it maybe normal for my cpu to have those temps, I'm gonna get a new cpu fan (the zalman if it fits), try out the molex and apply some more thermal compound with the new fan. I'll post back what results I get.

My system is looking a little hot!

niice, thanks a lot, i just updated my BIOS and my temps are looking a lot more normal. they are high though (58 degrees celcius cpu) and 37 degrees system. What kind of temperatures should I be getting on my system before I should be worrying? Hopefully, I shouldn't be worrying right now...
