New PC build, starts up, shuts down almost instantly..

News.. I picked up some new RAM on my way home from work, and now everything boots up fine. Thanks for the help guys.

Alright guys, Pulled EVERYTHING out of the case, and started over. Mobo sitting on the mobo box, cpu and hsf installed, vid card installed, ram installed, plugged in the power stuff, and shorted the power pins to start her up. She did the same thing, on, then right back off, then on again...

I did install the standoffs myself. I know there's none on there that aren't under a hole. I was very careful, and the case only came with enough standoffs for as many holes as there were on the motherboard. I'll try assembling it outside of the case and see if that does anything.

How can i tell which 965p-ds3 board is rev 3.3 at newegg?

Thanks for the info guys. Fallengod -- I've bought a lot of stuff from newegg, and have had nothing but great and fast service from them... I'd rather spend an extra 10 bucks there knowing that I'll get the product quick, and complete than some place i've never used...

How can i tell which 965p-ds3 board is rev 3.3 at newegg?

They dont have a revision listed.... they got one board that says rev. 1.3 that has 1333mhz fsb listed for $99, and they have another 965p-ds3 board listed for $124 or 129 or something that has 1066 listed as the max fsb.. Which is which?!

intel p965 or nvidia 680i chipset?

A good buddy of mine mentioned the nvidia 680i chipset today to me saying that he's had better luck overclocking with that set than the p965 intel chipset.. What do you guys say? Go p965 or go 680i???

I think i've narrowed it down to these two: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 or Asus P5B Deluxe As far as the DS3 is concerned... Newegg has a DS3 and a DS3 rev. 1.3.... Which of those is the better? Any help is appreciated!

What the hell is wrong with my monitor?

Just like the title says, my Mitsubishi 930sb is acting really weird... Like towards the bottom of the screen, there's this little line that dances up and down that's bright... Makes the whole screen waver like water... The wavering isn't horrible, but the little lines are annoying... It's...

cd-r audio burning issue...

alright, just for sh*ts and giggles, I burned the same exact cd in both Nero and Ulead BurnNOW (that came w/ my new burner), and burned them equally (same burn speed & settings) Oddly enough, the Nero disc had lots of errors during playback, while the Ulead burnt cd had absolutely ZERO...

Epox 9NDA3+ work with an Opteron 939 pin?

For anyone curious, I just got my new Opteron 144 installed last night on the 9NDA3+. BIOS picked it right up and identified it correctly as the Opteron 144 and all the default settings picked up the 1.8ghz perfectly. I was using the latest available BIOS (9-15-05 i believe)...

Gonna get a new chip..... Currently have a venice 3000+, but i believe the memory controller is bad, as I've swapped ram and mobo both and still get corrupt ram issues.... Anyhoo, since I'm still looking, would the opteron 144 or 146 (s939) be faster than the venice 3000+/3200+???

valid thought, however i broke out the other mobo i was having problems with, and i am actually using it right now (still having corrupt memory problems, but it's not the memory)... PSU works fine, and voltages are stable.

K8N Neo2 platinum A64 3000+ Venice tried two kinds of ram - OCZ Plats Rev 2, and Corsair XMS And yes, I thought maybe a short as well, but I pulled the board out of the case and tried that way, and it did the exact same thing!
