I'm having a difficult time deciding which cpu to go with. This computer will be used for SQL admin as well as Crystal and a few other programs. I am not really concerned with multitasking but I do want the most cpu power I can get. I just need to get through these SQL statements faster than I...
The wireless card I purchased with my XPS is the Dell 1450. The driver on the disk is for the 1350. Just download the correct driver from Dell and you will be good to go.
Subtract $100 from that price if you install the card yourself. Once you order the card, you need to call Dell and cancel the installation. So, the upgrade is well worth the price considering the possibility of another card is not good.
Do a complete format, I have found that to help from time to time. I would pull the nic and modem if you are getting hardware errors. Might even want to pull one of the sticks of ram as well. You could be having problems there even if your not overclocking.
I can't find much on Macros~2. Anti Virus is running fine. This error is on a company laptop. Problem with that is it's difficult to control what they do with them. Especially when it's a company exec.
Basically I'm at a loss. I have searched Google and MS knowledge base and come up with nothing. Any ideas? It seems the .pst file is hosed. I cannot find it or it has justed been changed.
The P4C800-E Dlx has bios recovery if the machine fails to boot. It will return to defaults when it restarts. Sounds like one of two things, PSU or mother board. Hopefully your PSU swap will take care of it.
Although not ideal, the heatsink touching a transistor is not the end of the world. Before I would bend a transistor, I would try and find a small piece of rubber or some other non conductive material to put between the two.

Well, I ended up with the ThermalTake Silent Boost from CompUsa. It was the only decent copper HSF I could find at either place. CDO is an interesting place. I like the customer repair area. Although it it really geared to the novice rather than the enthusiast. The only copper HSF that had was a...
I need to find someplace to buy a HSF for an AMD XP tomorrow. I need to know if there is somewhere in the area that sells better than stock around here. TIA
The customer should never know the markup. If we knew the markup on all of the crap we buy, we most likely would be pissed too.
When I build a machine for someone I charge a flat $350 and 10% of the hardware costs. A per hour repair or upgrade is $45 an hour and 5% of hardware costs.
"Feature Tool (v1.92)
The Feature Tool allows you to control some of the features of our Deskstar and Travelstar high performance ATA hard disk drives and supports 48-bit addressing, so it will work with the new large capacity drives. This version adds support for our latest drives. The...
Try finding some rubber grommets to mount the drive with. It will make a world of difference. If you still feel like the drive is dieing, you should back up your data and run Seagate's hard drive tests.
You will not regret the purchase of a Raptor. If you search enough you can find a used one for a decent price. Don't forget, they come with a 5 year warranty. You won't hardly even hear the drive at all. Your Sonata case has a really nice hard drive set up. There are four pull out cage...
Sorry to hear about your problems with NewEgg. I would have to say that it is unusual for them. Like others have said, I would have to guess your CC company might have dropped the ball.
Clear the CMOS and see what happens from there. BTW, that red light is fine, it should be there. When the system boots you should also see a green light.
