router sending ICMP error in response to broadcast traffic

Hey all: My router is apparently sending an ICMP error whenever its sees a packet it decides it either has nothing to do with, or doesn't like. As a result, my network admins disabled my ethernet connection. Anyone run into this sort of a problem before? It's a D-link DI-524. Copied below...

single stuck red pixel on notebook screen

need some sanity advice. my new dell latitude d610 SXGA+ 14" screen has a stuck red pixel in the middle of the screen. It generally resides on the firefox toolbar. It's really only noticeable on light backgrounds, but that includes web browsing, spreadsheets, word processing, etc...probably...

OMG! Help me, I can't decide!

Dell 700m vs. Sony S270

since you specify a large screen, I'm not sure I'd recommend the 700m . It's really quite a small screen, though it is a widescreen. I've never actually used them, but I see them around school all the time, and I personally think it would be infuriating to surf the web on one. Perhaps someone...

Would Win2000 be better than XP for gaming on laptop?

I used to run win XP on 384MB of RAM. It was fine for almost everything. I eventually upgraded to 768MB because the load times in HL2 were KILLING me, and I needed it for some technical software I run. I think with 512MB you should be fine on XP. Cheers.

Also, I'm pretty sure the T43 weights a pound and a half less than the 6000...which could be important if you're actually lugging the thing around.

if memory serves me correctly, the pentium M will have better battery life than a celeron. This seemed counterintuitive to me when I heard it, but perhaps the current celeron's architecture is older than than what is on the pentium m, and doesn't use power as efficiently? Can someone verify...

memory parity error on shut-down

A 128 MB 9800 Pro (AGP) or a 256MB PCI Express x16 nVidia GeForce 6800?

You mentioned that you're running a dell dimension. Dell has historically underrated their power supplies. I have a "250W" supply in my dimension that performs more like a 300-350W supply with a more conventional rating system. So in short, I'd guess you're fine with what you've got.

When the hell is ATI going to slash the price on the 9800pros?

I just bought a slightly used, never OC'd card for $140 on the FS/FT forums...and it's still under warrenty. If you can accept buying a used card, you can hit your desired price point.

Card switch driver procedure?

So I'm going to swap out a 9100 for a 9800 pro in a couple days, and was wondering, can I just leave my current cats in place? Driver issues only arise when you switch driver sets...not hardware that uses the same drivers...right?

Excessive Noise from My Vid Card
