Which sites maximum configurability for Asus ?

well, I bought my z71v last summer from Integrated System Technologies, Inc. (www.istnc.com) and have only had an absolutely wonderful experience w/ them. check out their reseller ratings.

Does a 17" LCD look smaller than a 19" widescreen LCD ?

man, 19" and only 1440x900?? that sucks, my asus z71v is 15.4" and 1680x1050 I hate how these lappy manufacturers keep sticking these crappy resolutions on these huge screens, it just seems so meaningless to make the display bigger but keep the same res

How do you connect laptop to desktop PC and transfer files fast?

from not fully reading the post until this moment (stupid me) i'd recommend the crossover cable. you could always just share the monitor between the two comps and swap as necessary to establish the connection.

heck, by the simple fact that he has 2 computers would lead me to believe that he's go some sort of router/switch set up to share internet.... which by itself would be enough to put together a connection to transfer the files pretty damn fast (even if at only a "measly" 100Mbps)

one difficulty to this I can think of would be really in testing the graphics card itself. in all benchmarks online, you'll have one set system and just swap in and out different video cards. this is simply impossible with notebooks. you can still get an idea as to how well they work across...

Honestly, I will say that I have never used Catia, but I do use AutoCAD as i said and do have a bunch of experience with 3D Studio MAX/VIZ. You may just want to check out the Catia message boards to find out that exact answer as to if it is really worth the additional costs. Unfortunately...

I'm not going to comment much on cpu/HD/memory specs cuz I think that everything else you really need to know has been said (in a nutshell.... just make the cpu big, get at least a gig of ram and make sure you have a good vid card). but having used AutoCAD for years now with school and less so...

well, the advantage if the shape is more parabolic, is that the loads coming down to the ground from the structure above will be transferred to the ground in more of a vertical direction. this has the advantage of not requiring as much lateral bracing as would be required in an arched structure...

well, my z71v under what i would consider normal usage gets anywhere from 3 to 3.5 hours while just using the standard battery. yeah, the 6.5 hour figure is BS and we all know that. even with the modular battery accessory you're never gonna get those numbers without turning most of the system...

Ummmmm.... thats exactly what they're doing though with the ps3. it's using a relative to the G70 chip which is in the 7800 called the RSX. and yes, it also will have 256 megs of dedicated video memory.

What's the best Mini-CD MP3 player?

Personally I have only seen one of those anywhere. It is made by philips and you can check it out here. Just get a regular Cd/mp3 player.....the discs are easier to find and believe it or not are often cheaper.
