I have twc internet service at my home not my pops place . The service I pay for includes free twc hotspots .. it just so happens that there is a hotspot one block away, If I'm outside of my dad's place I can pick up the hotspot . But inside my dad's place the signal gets so low it kicks me off...

win7 unbootable, hd took a poo?

need some help... Wifes pc (WIN7 pro 64BIT) wont boot (it gets stuck on the windows splash screen). Wont repair (it gets stuck on a blue background screen.. mouse still moves around but nuttin happening). not even safe mode works.. hd (wdc raptor) keeps making ticking and buzzing noise...

Anyone feel that they DONT need to upgrade?

My 2010 Corolla makes me very angry

the DRL can be disabled.. the DRL module is located in the glove box and you would have to take one wire out or cut it (Blue with sliver tracer I have to double check) it's a corolla u kno not a sports car.. it cuts fuel to the injector to correct the traction issue it's doing it's job...

A better formula to calculate power costs

my power company sends me a bill every month they calculate it for me ;) heh Im no math wiz or anything but a pc for example will use more watts while under load and less when in idle.. how can you really calculate something that can fluctuate so much?

486 dx2 66 4mb ram? some isa trident pos 100mb hd? super vga monitor 56k modem took me like a year to save up man I felt like a king when i went to j&r to buy all those parts lol (and thinking this is the best parts ever and it soo fast I would never need to buy another computer ever) lol...

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. im looking into trying out whs (dl as I type) home server backup and also video web server to my wifes relatives and friends (maybe more) but I looked at the specs requirements it's kinda low (p3 1ghz)...

Samsung LCD - help me understand this issue

try turning off the dma or dna (cant recall what it's called) if you have a sammy player I have a sammy 750 hooked up to a sammy br dvd and it would enable dna by default.. when ever I turn off the the dvd it would boot me to coax tv (vhich is not hooked up) so I used to get the static too...

Biostar Motherboards....Bad?

just recently donated my p4m800 (c2d & agp with ddr1 ram lol) and that was good mb. wouldnt overclock anything over 9fsb(over stock) but what ever it worked using all of my older leftover poo.. moved up to a p4m890 and so far it's been pretty good not as great oc as a p35/45 but i paid like...

Is a Pentium D 2.8 GHz considered fast ?

find out more about the mb.. some of the dell's mb you can upgrade to a low end c2d/dc just check to see what type of chipset it uses and if your lucky u can pop a more modern/efficent proc in there problem solve ;)

volume way too low

something I never figured out on my htpc the volume is soooo low (all the settings are at max) im currently using the onboard sound off the mb(headphone jack) I have to turn the tv volume pretty high but I always forget to turn the volume down before switchin to (for example) the cable box...

do you have a microcenter near you? if so they have a q9550 (which is pretty much the best you can get without payin a arm and leg. it's $170 @ mc) every thing else looks great

Seeking advice/help for Pentium D upgrade.

I had a pt880 chipset a while ago and I was able to use a low end pentium dc (e2140 from a 805pd) on that board.. you know anyone that can loan you a low end c2d (1066 and under fsb 65nm cpus or even the celeron 4xx would work just to test?) oh and flash with the latest bios before popin it...

HTPC drive setup

yea it's a home router so from router to powerline network adapter(basement) use a crossover/patch cable then powerline network adapter (first floor) use a crossover/patch cable to the switch? so I would need 2 crossover cable correct? thanks for the reply/help!!

:( 2 gb is max for that mb (2x1gb) he has a pentium 4 1.8 and im pretty sure a celeron 430 (1.8ghz) is alot faster than what he has I do have a xp home that I could pop on but I enjoy vista and it seems more secure than xp
