Thanks Jdurg for the reply. I was so looking forward to overclocking my first P4. Oh well, I'll keep my eyes out for the Northwood chip. BTW, just to make sure, on my chip it says 1.8 Ghz, since there's no A designation, it's a Willy, right? For future reference, my question regarding...

One other thing. Would any PC3000 or PC3200 DDR work or does it have to be Corsair XMS... ? The price difference is at least $60 for an OEM vs. Corsair.

I see that a lot of you have the Northwood chips and are getting great results. I have a regular 478 pin 1.8 Ghz P4. Can this chip be overclocked and how much more speed can I get? Would the overclocking procedure be the same as the Northwood chip? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks guys for the reply. So you're saying that unless I overclock the ratio (which I guess I have to figure out what that is and how to do), the 333 DDR will be running at 266?

Hi, I'm very new with this overclocking thing and trying to learn as much from you guys as possible. One thing I don't understand is that I too is thinking about getting the Asus p4b533 mobo but it only supports pc 2100 and lower DDR. I noticed that you have this mobo but are using pc3000...
